Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and enforce company and regulatory EHS requirements for all subcontractors working on active job sites.

Review subcontractor safety programs, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and activity hazard analyses (AHAs) for adequacy and compliance.

Track and analyze subcontractor safety performance metrics and certificates of insurance; report trends to project leadership.
Promote a proactive safety culture by recognizing safe behaviors and addressing at-risk conditions promptly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of construction EHS management experience, with at least 2 years working directly with subcontractors.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations.
Professional certifications preferred: CSP, CHST, OHST, or OSHA 30-Hour Construction.
Strong understanding of multi-employer worksite safety requirements.
Proficient in safety management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse subcontractor teams.
Ability to perform fieldwork and inspections in varying weather and site conditions.
Working Conditions:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Full time assignment to complete a variety of health and safety related roles in support of a major projects. The CHST , ASP or CHST/ASP candidate will provide oversight of field crews performances during, installation and testing; construction of remediation well-head infrastructure; above-ground water storage infrastructure; buildings and above-ground structures; grading and earthwork; construction of electrical infrastructure; and, controls/instrumentation activities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT
Field work and desk/office work. As necessary, must be able to travel to other work areas, be aware of safety requirements for those areas, and work within those constraints (e.g. access procedures and proper PPE). Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the project site.
CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance and punctuality is required. Project schedule and is based on a 8-hour day, 5 days per week. Overtime may be required through duration of the job.

The primary functions of this position are to ensure the safety and quality of 5 Star Electric, LLC's operations and procedures. Serve as the staff subject matter expert in safety management, developing and carrying out procedures as well as documenting processes within the organization. You will be responsible for the safety control audits of all installation and repair work ensuring compliance as outlined by company and OSHA directives. The position reports to the HSE Director and will require travel and relocation from time to time.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Have a complete understanding of all Company-related safety rules and regulations, and effectively communicate them to all affected personnel so as not to diminish in any way the Company's established safety goals and objectives.
Continually examine data to identify operational problems, positive and negative trends and issues, and understands possible cause-effect relationships that have a bearing on the Company's Safety Program performance. Promptly develop solutions to effectively address any issues that may cause a potential problem and communicate accordingly.
Actively involve others, as necessary, in the decision-making process. In so doing, ensure all relative safety information is obtained, and alternatives are identified so the best decision[s] are made and appropriate buy-in is obtained.
Review potential subcontractor's safety policies, procedures, and performance during the pre-qualification/bidding phase to ensure the company meets the established requirements
Conducting field-monitoring activities associated with hot work permitting, excavation permits, crane operation, equipment loading/unloading, etc.
Reviewing / auditing daily activity conducted by subcontractor personnel
Conducting accident investigations and incident reports as needed
Taking immediate corrective action on any unsafe acts observed, involving the company management and subcontractor management for immediate review
Follow a “Best Practices” philosophy by being pro-active in making creative, timely and meaningful suggestions as to how best achieve maximum efficiencies and results from the Company's Safety Program.

Job Description
Position Purpose:
Responsible for providing and administering environmental, health, and safety programs and related policies and procedures affecting the company's existing and/or proposed environmental health and safety issues. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Coordinate worker's compensation, accident, and injury management programs with facility personnel to determine adverse trends and develop meaningful productive standards resulting in safe and effective operations.
Implement industrial hygiene, safety, regulatory and transportation programs as well as modifying existing plans to meet the needs of the facility(s).
Acts as chairperson on improvement team pertaining to all environmental, health, and safety programs. Makes appropriate recommendations on either a national level or modifications to facilitate the needs at various levels within VES-TS locations.
Provides guidance to all levels of management regarding utilization of appropriate practices in conjunction with regulatory requirements and changes, if necessary.
Provides training in environmental, site remediation, reactive chemical operations, emergency response, etc. as needed or requested by local operation sites.
Provides appropriate research and investigation to support the development of existing and/or potential new environmental, transportation, health and safety policies as determined by management or required by federal, state, or local governmental agencies.
Approximately 10% travel required.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
BS in Chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent work experience required.

About the Role
The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free and regulatory-compliant work environment at the Newton, Iowa manufacturing site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and implements EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations.
Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, equipment, and other materials.
Leads air permit, hazardous waste, community right to know, and other applicable regulatory compliance activities including record keeping and reporting and reporting requirements.
Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential safety and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
