* Drive lean manufacturing activities at a global or local level including methods, tools, roadmap systems, elaboration, and deployment. Manage industrial improvement projects including process improvement, green field, revamp-up or extension, localization of manufacturing activities, etc.
* Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
* Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
* Work with Assembly, Test, and Overhaul sites to build in manufacturing variation models in Polyworks Inspector across multiple engine programs
* Partner with our Digital Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, and Assembly Teams for the automated processing, efficient storage, and recall of variation data.
* Creating easy to use reports, colormaps, and SPC features for investigating correlations with downstream effects.
* Refine existing data collection systems and deploy process improvements to create a more robust data pipeline.
* Partner with ATMRO teams to ensure current capabilities are maintained and find new inroads for application of the technology in our shops
* Deploy state of the art augmented reality to improve human-machine interactions
* Create a data-nomenclature that standardizes the characteristics across engine programs
* Own the pipeline of data from collection, processing, and reporting. Experience with 3D scan polygonal meshes is a must.
* Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. **Roles & Responsibilities:**
The GE Aviation Thermal Technology Labs are responsible for experimental evaluation of aerodynamic and thermodynamic performance on turbomachinery components in support of all GE Aviation engine programs, as well as development of advanced aerothermal measurement techniques.
There are 3 primary functions in the Thermal Technology Labs:
+ Early TRL evaluation of heat transfer and cooling performance of combustors, turbines, and exhaust components
+ Evaluation of thermal performance of fielded products
+ Development of advanced aero and thermodynamic experimental measurement techniques
In the role of Technician - Thermal Technology Lab, you will be responsible to work with engineers in component test evaluation efforts within the Thermal Technology Lab, with core responsibilities to include:
+ Support design of pilot test apparatus
+ Own the procurement, build-up, sealing, instrumentation, assembly and article preparation of lab test rigs
+ Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality
+ Support hardware and software architecture of Data Acquisition Systems

The Engineering Technician, Thermal Technology Lab provides technical assistance to engineers with design, build-up, assembly, instrumentation, and test execution of internal research and development (R&D) efforts and experimental evaluation of advanced technology.
Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
The GE Aviation Thermal Technology Labs are responsible for experimental evaluation of aerodynamic and thermodynamic performance on turbomachinery components in support of all GE Aviation engine programs, as well as development of advanced aerothermal measurement techniques.
There are 3 primary functions in the Thermal Technology Labs:
* Early TRL evaluation of heat transfer and cooling performance of combustors, turbines, and exhaust components
* Evaluation of thermal performance of fielded products
* Development of advanced aero and thermodynamic experimental measurement techniques
In the role of Technician - Thermal Technology Lab, you will be responsible to work with engineers in component test evaluation efforts within the Thermal Technology Lab, with core responsibilities to include:
* Support design of pilot test apparatus
* Own the procurement, build-up, sealing, instrumentation, assembly and article preparation of lab test rigs
* Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality
* Support hardware and software architecture of Data Acquisition Systems
* Interface with internal and external shops and vendors, internal functions, and facilities teams
* Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with test apparatus.
* Coordinate and work closely with teammates to execute lab team objectives
* Assist the staff contributor or manager in planning work activity for the organization.
* Ownership of development test documentation including facility, rig build, and data sets
Qualifications/Requirements
* Associates Degree in a technical field (Comp Science, Aviation Maintenance, Math, Physics) or a high school diploma / GED with 1 year of relevant aviation or test experience.
* Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted.
