Position Summary Roles within System Integrity are responsible for implementation of Distribution and Transmission Integrity Management programs, as well as Corrosion Control. This includes understanding the design, development, execution, and reporting of DIMP and TIMP along with related compliance and risk mitigation programs including damage prevention, leak trending, and cathodic protection. The System Integrity team is also responsible for Distribution and Transmission Integrity management Plan revisions, documentation of standard operating practices involving inspection tools, methods, materials, and the preparations of associated technical reports and/or special project studies. Team members act as Subject Matter Experts providing technical support to the operations function as well as other functional areas within SJI. Roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: * Support the Distribution and Transmission Integrity Management Programs, data gathering/analysis, investigation of records, and oversight of integrity assessments. * Coordinate with other departments as required to implement Integrity Management programs, identify system threats, monitor performance measures, and implement appropriate mitigation. * Participate in periodic Integrity Management Effectiveness Reviews. * Compile information for the Company's annual distribution and transmission reports to DOT PHMSA. Assist with the data collection and preparation of other periodic regulatory reports. * Coordinate with other departments in updating the company's Operating, Maintenance, Construction, and Emergency Response manuals. Submit proposed changes for review. * Conduct studies of a technical nature and/or participate in special task forces as assigned that will result in improvements to operations. Formulate recommendations that can be used to develop long range plans in operations. * Provide technical support to other departments as needed. This role will possess a comprehensive knowledge of professional engineering and/or technical concepts, principles, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of all phases of gas distribution and transmission operations and practices is preferred. It is expected that your role applies intermediate level skills to projects or assignments within own group/project team. Additionally, it is expected that you will follow regulations and guidelines related to safety in both design and construction. We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join our Crypto Custody team. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling secure, high-performance blockchain and crypto wallet products for Ava Labs and our ecosystem partners. This role is an integral part of our technical leadership group-pioneering cutting-edge solutions, building modular and scalable crypto wallet infrastructures, and ensuring the highest standards of security. WHAT YOU WILL DO Innovate & Architect: Design, develop, and maintain crypto wallet systems using Golang, ensuring robust support for protocols such as multi-party computation (MPC) and multi-signature (multi-sig) configurations Architect modular, scalable backend systems with an unwavering commitment to security and performance Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Partners to optimize configurations and setups for Ava Labs products Provide technical guidance across Business Development, Product, Security, Finance, and Engineering teams Drive Product Advancements: Assess opportunities and recommend solutions tailored to client needs Establish architectures and systems that ensure mass adoption of Ava Labs products while maintaining top-tier security Exhibit Extreme Ownership: Demonstrate an independent, driven mindset that thrives on taking initiative without being micromanaged Take full responsibility for delivering high-quality, secure backend solutions while continuously embracing challenges, learning, and pushing boundaries to drive product excellence WHAT YOU WILL BRING Technical Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems Proven track record in building crypto wallets or blockchain-related products Deep understanding of both UTXO and Account models, state management, and consensus mechanisms Extensive experience in secure coding practices with a very strong understanding of security principles as they apply to blockchain and crypto wallet systems Familiarity with competitive technologies and cloud service setups Leadership & Independence: A self-driven, independent mindset with extreme ownership over your work and outcomes Thrive in an environment where you are empowered to take initiative and work autonomously without being micromanaged Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges Customer Focus: A user-centric approach to designing and launching high-quality products that fuel the growth of the crypto economy Proven ability to empathize with customer challenges and translate those insights into actionable development priorities NICE TO HAVE 3+ years of solutions architecture experience Experience with Golang and JavaScript is a plus Experience with multi-party computation (MPC) protocols Hands-on experience with advanced security testing tools and methodologies Expertise in infrastructure engineering, including Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Prior senior-level engineering experience in a blockchain or crypto organization Salary Range: $185,000 - $219,000 ( **This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
