Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will involve working with protection and control systems that are responsible for safely operating and protecting the electric grid. These duties could include:
Reading and interpreting construction documents and drawings for medium and high voltage protection and control equipment.
Developing protection system calculations and studies.
Preparing designs on projects requiring basic engineering skills.
Producing relay settings for Generators, Transformers, Buses, Transmission Line, Reactors/Capacitors, and Distribution Equipment.
Creating RTU configurations for Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Substations.
Investigating protection system operations.
Modeling the transmission system to perform short circuit and protection system coordination studies.
Opportunity to work with one or more System Protection Department functional teams based upon qualifications and interest: Transmission Protection, Distribution Protection, Operational Data Analysis, CAPE Database Maintenance, Reliability & Compliance, Relay Projects or SCADA, Telemetering & RTU.
