We are seeking enthusiastic applicants for our Summer Camp Technology Assistant positions!
Tech Academy teaches week-long technology classes. We offer Minecraft, Movie Making, Video Game Design, Legos, and Robotics classes for students ages 6-14.
Ideal applicants for Teacher positions are college students/graduates with experience with elementary-age children or licensed teachers. Ideal applicants for Assistant positions are tech-savvy college students or those qualified for the Lead Teacher position looking for a more relaxed role in the classroom. We are currently seeking students who have attained Sophomore or Junior Status in Computer Science or Computer Engineering programs to join our Summer Internship program. In addition to technical acumen, we highly value leadership skills as we believe innovation thrives when developers take initiative to make great software.
This position will be a member of our core 3D Graphics Software Engineering team, which develops pC-Nova, Aechelon Technology's industry-leading visual simulation application, based in our Overland Park, Kansas office. This role will be paired with a Mentor who will assist in developing new technologies to improve Aechelon's products. This role will have the opportunity to contribute to Aechelon's shipping products and therefore make a lasting impact on our Company and our end users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with core 3D Graphics Software Engineering team to develop and enhance pC-Nova, Aechelon Technology's flagship visual simulation application
Work closely with dedicated Mentor to design and implement new technologies aimed at improving Aechelon's product offerings
Contribute directly to production-level software, with the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on both company products and end-user experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Passion for developing fast code and solid software engineering principles
In-depth knowledge of and experience programming in C or C++ languages
Two years progress towards B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with export-controlled technology
DESIRED COMPETENCIES:
Experience with developing 3D applications with Open GL or Direct3D
Experience with rendering engines such as Unreal, Unity or Babylon.js
Experience with multi-processing real time systems
Experience with GPGPU development using CUDA, OpenCL, or OpenGL Compute
Experience with machine-learning technology such as Convolutional Neural Networks
Experience with defect tracking systems such as Jira or Bugzilla
Experience with Configuration Management (CM) systems such as Perforce
Proficiency with scripting languages: bash, Javascript, Python, etc.

The Summer 2026 Internship Experience is a full time position June 1, 2026 to July 31st, 2026 . All interns will be based out of our main location in Parsons, Kansas. Anticipate the possibility of employer paid travel to project sites, events, and trainings during the internship.
Position Summary: The Software Developer Intern position is responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of internally developed programs with a focus on legacy code maintenance and improvement. Development could include integration with existing systems, creation of brand new programs and systems, or a combination of both.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and maintains new internal small-scale applications.
Provides support for internally developed programs on an as needed basis
Documents program functionality and configuration
Collaborates with other developers and other departments within the organization
Communicates between different departments regarding system requirements, program specifications, and other related information.
Helps define, establish, maintain, and adjust internal software development protocols, procedures, and standards.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications:
Experience with basic development processes.
Experience with any of the following languages:

Experience working with a team of different disciplines.
Experience with SQL databases.
Communication of technical requirements, concepts, or features with non-technical personnel.

College Level Junior or Senior
