The Applied Genomics, Computation & Translational Core (AGCT) are looking for a Research Associate III to join the team!
The Cedars-Sinai Applied Genomics, Computation, and Translational Core (AGCT Core) is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art genomics facility offering data generation and interpretation for basic science and translational research in next-generation sequencing technologies, including single cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, and bulk cell omics. We specialize in single cell omics and spatial transcriptomics via the 10x Genomics, Parse Biosciences, Mission Bio, and NanoString platforms. Our R&D team offers sample preparation for single cell assays, such as nuclei isolation from frozen tissue or single cell isolation from fresh tissue dissociation. The AGCT Core also offers comprehensive services for standard bulk cell sequencing in genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and metagenomics. Are you ready to be a part of breakthrough research?
Under general guidance, the Research Associate III works closely with Dr. Gayther, the CBFG and the AGCT Core, providing technical and/or administrative support in large or multi-project oriented labs. May be requested by PI to take on specific supervisory activities, and provide administrative leadership, and/or technical expertise. May develop hypothesis and assist in planning steps for the investigative process. Will review and remain current on literature as it relates to clinical/research study. Coordinates all lab and/or clinical activities, including but not limited to, budgetary/financial compliance, preparation of grant proposals, and creating independent presentations. Not responsible for generating grant funds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides miscellaneous clinical/research support (ad hoc data analysis, hypothesis development, programming, troubleshooting, etc.).
Organizes clinical/research trials in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and sponsor and/or funding source.
Monitors and ensures compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Analyzes data and prepares scientific findings for publication as author or co-author.
May make independent presentations.
May provide system administration and maintenance for the local workstation network.
Leads and trains Research Lab Assistants, Research Fellow, lower level Research Associates, and other related support staff and may be requested by PI to take on specific supervisory activities.
Orients new Research Fellows and/or Research Scientists to day-to-day lab operations and procedures.
Department-Specific Responsibilities:
May participate as a Safety representative and attend safety monthly meetings providing updates.
Presents quarterly on lab-related protocols, updates, reminders, share information on equipment needed in the lab, discuss lab needs, lab improvements, lab issues, etc.
Assists with BER applications/updates & compliance, conduct safety monitoring with regular lab inspections.
Maintains eyewash weekly activation log, spill kits, safety training and compliance, as well as chemical and biohazard compliance.
Conducts basic training centering of new staff/interns/students/post-doc on proper and safe general lab techniques (e.g. ergonomics, pipette usage, sterile TC techniques, clean-up of spills, etc.).
Oversees CBFG and AGCT Equipment Service/Maintenance Agreements including requesting quotes, submitting requests for PO's, and contacting vendors when an instrument is not working properly, etc.
Liaison for RFO requests including updating contact form and information, as well as reagent quotes.
Serves as the point person for shipments involving dry ice and other biologicals.
Reconciles orders requested and received.
Point of contact for vendors.
Assists farm freezer/ CO2 incubator alarms on Cetani.
Assists with weekly lab ordering and other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:
• Bachelor's Degree in a science related field is required.
Experience & Skills:
Three (3) years of research laboratory experience are required. General understanding of molecular biology.
Familiar with routine laboratory procedures, overall lab organization and cleanliness, as well as proper disposal of waste management.
Must have superior interpersonal, communication and organization skills and the ability to work across company disciplines and functional units, and computer application experience.
Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance of specialized equipment.

**Overview**
**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** The Associate Research Specialist, under supervision, conducts routine laboratory research procedures. Follows protocol to perform experiments. The Associate Research Specialist (ARS) will be involved in pediatric neural cancer research at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in the Smith Research Tower in Dr. Huang's Laboratory. The lab is focused on understanding the genetic causes of and identifying potential therapeutic targets for two pediatric neural tumors: medulloblastoma and neuroblastoma. The ARS will perform and acquire a wide range of skills including maintaining and differentiating human stem cells, cloning DNA constructs, genome editing using CRISPR, transduction/transfections, flow cytometry, western blot, RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and mouse surgeries. The ARS must be willing to rotate with 2-3 other lab mates to maintain cell cultures over the weekends. The ARS will also assist in lab managerial duties (e.g. lab ordering, troubleshooting broken equipment, etc). In addition, the ARS will have the opportunity to present at lab meetings, lead a project(s) and be a co-author or first author on publication(s). This is an ideal position for a self-motivated individual interested in expanding skill sets in a wet laboratory setting and/or pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD in the future. Candidates must be committed to working for at least 2 years.
**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** Experience working in a laboratory environment required; Preferred 1+ years experience performing laboratory research (previous work in a biology research lab for at least 6 months and have at least 3 months of experience performing mammalian cell culture). Previous experience working with live mice and human stem cells is preferred.

Design Workshop has proudly carried forward this mission through the Dr. Charles Fountain Internship Program, offering career-bound students from all backgrounds the chance to immerse themselves in a collaborative, mission-driven design studio. Our goal is to give students real access to professional practice, mentorship, and leadership pathways.
The Experience
This 10-week, paid, immersive summer internship places you directly on project teams working on real-world challenges in landscape architecture, planning, and the built environment. You'll learn how projects move from idea to impact-while gaining the technical, creative, and professional skills that set future leaders apart.
You'll be part of a firmwide cohort of interns, balancing hands-on studio work with participation in the Dr. Charles Fountain focus project, designed to foster leadership, collaboration, and purpose-driven design.
Through close mentorship and team-based learning, interns gain:
Hands-on professional design experience
Exposure to project management and client engagement
Technical and business skill development
Insight into careers shaping communities, cities, and landscapes

Job Summary:
Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) is a premier mission-driven university dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved and under-resourced communities through health professions education, biomedical and public health research, and compassionate care. The CDU HIV Research Pillar and Drew Center for AIDS Research, Education, and Services (Drew CARES) have a vibrant track record of HIV-related research, training, and service delivery.
In collaboration with the Urban Health Institute, the CDU HIV Research Pillar and Drew CARES seek to recruit two faculty members for appointment at the academic rank of Assistant-to-Full Professor. Faculty rank will be determined based on experience and review of dossier material submitted. Recruited faculty members will have opportunities for research collaboration and mentorship with the new UCLA-CDU Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). The CFAR mission is to stop HIV in Los Angeles County and beyond by engaging diverse researchers with multidisciplinary perspectives.
The University is seeking investigators whose work combines HIV prevention, treatment, and/or health services research with any one or more of the following areas: substance use disorders, mental health, trauma, clinical informatics, hepatitis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, or mobile technologies. We seek investigators with research experience and interest in domestic issues related to Black and Latino populations OR international issues related to prevention and treatment services in Sub-Saharan Africa. HIV clinicians are highly encouraged to apply.
All candidates should also demonstrate an interest and skill in teaching or mentorship, and a history of successful multi- and interdisciplinary research collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain faculty responsibility and accountability for:
