The research assistant reports to the Laboratory Manager. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, order as needed. Sterilize lab instruments and reagents. Assist students and faculty with research projects, as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of: Basic laboratory procedures. Molecular and protein analysis including, but not limited to, PCR and Western analyses. Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Photoshop. Experience: Minimum one year of experience with cell culture, microbiology and molecular biology techniques including solutions preparation. Education: Bachelor's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, cell biology, immunology, physiology, or related field. Working Conditions: Position is full-time, eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week. Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens or biohazardous materials may reasonably be anticipated. Personal protective equipment will be provided to reduce or eliminate exposure to routine or limited infectious agents.
