Reporting to the Associate Dean for Research at the FSU College of Medicine and the Director of Research and Development at AREF, this critical role will lead grant proposal planning and writing, oversee day to day laboratory activities and ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed properly and in adherence to regulation. The RMRF may also facilitate procedures in the Surgical Skills Laboratory and assist with patient visits for clinical research studies as needed.
The Andrews RMC was designed to pioneer the translation of regenerative medicine treatments from early clinical and animal studies to evidence-based patient care. The RMC provides clinical space to offer current evidence-based and regulatory-compliant treatments and houses a tissue processing and storage facility to participate in developmental stem cell studies. The RMC includes a GMP compliant clean room (ISO 7), lab equipment to facilitate research (including a flow cytometer, hemocytometer, incubator, microscope, ELISA reader, and other equipment), and biologic product storage (including liquid nitrogen vapor phase storage, a -80 freezer, and two medical grade biologic refrigerators).

The Johns Hopkins All Children's Institute for Fundamental Biomedical Research (IFBR) is recruiting for a basic science research faculty member to be located on the St. Petersburg, Florida campus. The selected candidate will hold a full time tenure-track faculty appointment with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM), rank commensurate with experience (Assistant, Associate or full Professor).
We are interested in candidates whose proposed research has broad relevance to the control of metabolism related to disease states with relevance to children's health. Additionally, preferred research areas include, but are not limited to genomics, epigenomics, nuclear receptor research, lipid signaling, bioinformatics, transcriptional and system level analyses of cells and tissues involved in whole body metabolism and/or disease processes. Candidates whose research offers translational potential in obesity, diabetes, endocrine, inflammatory or degenerative diseases are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Faculty opportunity requires a PhD or MD/PhD in Biological Science or related field with outstanding training and experience in research pertaining to one of the focus areas noted above. Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) has received a transformative gift to establish the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center. This gift will fund the construction of a new research building and the creation of three new faculty positions, along with new staff and graduate student positions. We seek to assemble an outstanding team of faculty to seize this opportunity and conduct research on laminitis, a painful and crippling disease of horses. The new team will consist of one faculty member at the professor level, one at the associate professor level, and one at the assistant professor level. The new 14,000-square-foot facility will offer both clinical and benchtop research space, as well as the equipment needed for advanced research. Graduate student stipends will be available to each faculty member, and a substantial amount of funding will be available to the team annually for research on the prevention and treatment of laminitis in pleasure or working horses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a twelve-month non- tenure-track appointment in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences (DCBS). Time allocations for this position are 90% research and 10% academic service, teaching, or clinical service, depending upon the individual's interests and expertise. Percentages can be adjusted according to the faculty member's professional interests.
The DCBS is home to 19 faculty, 25 staff and 28 graduate students engaged in research, teaching and service, with most faculty primarily focused on research. Current research strengths within the department include environmental toxicology, represented by the Center for Environmental Health Sciences, aquaculture, infectious diseases, and immunology. In addition to research, faculty in the DCBS are involved in the management and delivery of the first year of the veterinary curriculum, and members of the department play key roles in a program designed to provide veterinary students with a high-quality research experience in the summer. Faculty in the department are also actively involved in providing classes and training activities for graduate students. The three new faculty members for the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in the DCBS, as well as clinicians in the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine. Equine medicine and equine surgery clinicians in this department provide clinical care to horses with laminitis, and opportunities exist for the new faculty to provide clinical service in the Large Animal Hospital of the Animal Health Center.

Additionally, preferred research areas include, but are not limited to genomics, epigenomics, nuclear receptor research, lipid signaling, bioinformatics, transcriptional and system level analyses of cells and tissues involved in whole body metabolism and/or disease processes.
