Baylor University has an opening for a Postdoctoral ResearchAssociate in Experimental High Energy Physics beginning no sooner than August 1st, 2025. The successful candidate will join the Experimental High Energy Physics group led by Profs. Brinkerhoff, Dittmann, Hatakeyama, and Wilson to participate in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.
The group currently plays a major role in the Phase 2 upgrade of the endcap calorimeter, the development of novel calorimeters for future experiments, the operation of the recently upgraded hadron calorimeter, trigger system optimization, and improvement of particle flow reconstruction. We are currently engaged in measurements involving the top quark, searches for rare Higgs boson decays, searches for supersymmetry and other new phenomena, and measurements of rare standard model processes. We vigorously pursue the use of machine learning techniques for data analysis.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. and research experience in experimental high energy physics. The successful candidate is expected to carry out novel physics analyses in the area of effective fi eld theory, as well as to contribute to the Phase 2 upgrade of the endcap calorimeter, the development of novel calorimetry, the operation of the CMS detector, and/or future detector upgrades. Candidates should have extensive programming experience in C++ and Python, and some experience in machine learning techniques is preferred.

Position Description
The Monarch Research and Education Internship offers hands-on experience in monarch monitoring, habitat assessments, conservation, and community outreach. Interns conduct field research using standardized protocols and work directly with biologists and Natural Resource Managers on military lands.
This is a field-focused position. Interns typically spend four days each week outdoors and one day completing data entry, writing, and administrative tasks. Fieldwork involves documenting milkweed presence, identifying blooming plants, and recording monarch eggs, larvae, and adults. Interns also support outreach activities designed to inspire interest in monarchs, pollinators, and migration among military families and school-aged children. All interns write biweekly blogs and attend virtual team meetings and webinars.
Interns who continue into the fall season assist with capturing, tagging, and measuring monarchs during migration.

* Collect aerial imagery using UAV for vegetation indices (NDVI, NDRE, etc.), canopy structure, soil variability, and water stress analysis.
* Process raw imagery using photogrammetry and GIS software to generate orthomosaics and vegetation maps.

The successful candidate will contribute to developing and evaluating terrestrial and aquatic nitrogen dynamics and emission modeling, with applications in the multi-scale APEX/SWAT agroecosystem models for conservation assessment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive search of scientific research papers and findings on aquatic N2O emission monitoring and modeling across various freshwater systems.

Applications are invited for a Senior ResearchAssociate to work in a joint research project at Texas A&M AgriLife, Temple, TX and USDA-ARS, Maricopa, AZ. The associate will lead the collection, processing, and analysis of agricultural data using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and related sensing technologies. This position supports research aimed at enhancing in-season cotton monitoring, resource management, and decision-making through the use of high-resolution aerial imagery and data analytics.
Responsibilities:
Collect aerial imagery using UAV for vegetation indices (NDVI, NDRE, etc.), canopy structure, soil variability, and water stress analysis.
Process raw imagery using photogrammetry and GIS software to generate orthomosaics and vegetation maps.
Manage geospatial data and integrate UAV and other sensor-derived datasets with ground-based observations and crop models to enhance data-driven insights.
Work with crop modelers and data scientists to integrate UAV-based analytics into precision agriculture workflows.

Position Information:
The successful candidate will contribute to developing and evaluating terrestrial and aquatic nitrogen dynamics and emission modeling, with applications in the multi-scale APEX/SWAT agroecosystem models for conservation assessment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive search of scientific research papers and findings on aquatic N2O emission monitoring and modeling across various freshwater systems.
Compile and critically review the current state of knowledge on N2O emissions and modeling in freshwater ecosystems.
Acquire, organize, and analyze N2O emissions data from freshwater systems, integrating it with environmental and other measurement datasets.
Develop and implement N2O emission processes and parameterization within the APEX model.
Assess and enhance the performance of the improved model across various freshwater agroecosystem landscapes.
Integrate and evaluate the enhanced processes within the SWAT model framework.
Document the model development process and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Performs other duties assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Soil and Crop Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, or related fields, with a focus on terrestrial and freshwater ecosystem modeling and water quality assessment at the watershed scale.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated publication record in watershed modeling and analysis.
Proficiency in scientific programming.
Experience in grant proposal writing within a collaborative environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient understanding of agroecosystems, watershed hydrology, soil-plant-water relations, and aquatic nitrogen dynamics.
Solid experience with process-based models, including APEX, SWAT, EPIC, DayCent, or DNDC.
Proficiency in computer programming, including scripting in Python, Fortran, or other computing tools for data processing and modeling.
Strong interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team under supervision.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, professionalism, and competency.
Capacity to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Dr. Brittany Perrine's Vocal Health and Voice Physiology Research Lab is seeking undergraduate students (sophomores, juniors, & seniors) to join the team. This position provides hands-on experience with research methods commonly used in speech-language pathology, vocal performance, and health science fields. Students will engage directly in data collection, analysis, equipment use, and the dissemination of research findings.

Primary Responsibilities & Training
Undergraduate Research Assistants will receive training and work on tasks such as:
• Participating in data collection sessions with study participants

What We Are Looking For
The Wright Group in the Departments of Biology and Chemistry & Biochemistry at Baylor University is seeking multiple postdoctoral researchassociates with expertise in chemical biology and/or chemoproteomics.
The Wright Group is focused on phenotype-driven studies of gut and oral microbiomes. Within this focus, the research group has a strong program in the synthesis and application of chemical probes in complex biological systems and measurements of probe labeling by LC-MS based proteomics, fluorescence microscopy, and cell sorting. This position will primarily support research to develop and apply chemical probes for the selective isolation of pathogens from oral microbiomes.
We are hoping to extend our expertise by identifying exceptionally motivated individuals with a Ph.D. and a background in chemical biology, with priority given to candidates with expertise in synthesizing and using chemical probes or protein-targeting small molecules. Candidates with expertise in probe-dependent cell sorting or chemoproteomics experience are aligned well with the needs of the position.
Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. and have a background in chemical biology, organic chemistry, or a related field prior to beginning their assignment. The candidate must be able to independently design and execute experiments.
Additional skills of interest include experience in one or more of the following areas: application of chemical molecules/tools to biological systems, cell sorting, pathogen biology, proteomics, chemical synthesis, microbiology, protein expression, cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, and/or functional assays.
What You Will Do
Develop and execute independent research in phenotype-driven microbiome studies using chemical biology strategies
Perform laboratory research using chemical biology, with heavy emphasis on selective isolation of cells from microbiomes based on phenotype
Perform fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), organic synthesis, carbohydrate chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and proteomics/chemoproteomics
Develop statistically rigorous cell sorting and proteomics data analysis workflows in conjunction with bioinformaticians in the group
Collaboratively develop novel ideas and methods for applications relevant to internal and externally funded research programs. In addition, the selected candidate will be required to contribute to, and possibly lead, the preparation of reports, papers, posters, presentations, etc
Keep accurate and current records of all results from experiments performed, document methods and processes
Present your research
Provide mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students
Participate in the proposal writing and submission process
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
