Other projects include headstarting the Carolina gopher frog (a native species of frog with highly decreased population being considered for listing under the Endangered Species Act) for release back into ponds in the Croatan National Forest, and monitoring Crystal skipper (an endemic butterfly) populations on the barrier island.
