As a Research Scientist, you will develop new benchmarks, methodologies, and evaluation pipelines that shape how cutting-edge models are assessed, compared, and deployed in production environments. Responsibilities
Benchmarking & Model Analysis
Evaluate newly released models as they launch (e.g., Gemini, DeepSeek, etc.)
Run large-scale assessment workflows using internal evaluation infrastructure
Compare model performance across enterprise-grade task categories
Design New Benchmarks from Scratch
Identify high-value model application domains through research exploration

Responding to a US government agency's Request for Comment
Learning about risk management practices in other industries, and applying these to AI
Designing and implementing evaluations of AI models, for example to demonstrate failure modes with current policy

Reading a government or AI developer's AI policy document, and writing a report on its limitations

Who We're Looking For
There are no formal degree requirements to work on the team, however we are especially excited about applicants who have a strong background in AI Safety and have particular previous experience or familiarity working in (or as) one or more of:
Compute governance. Technical knowledge of AI hardware / chips manufacturing and related governance proposals.
Policy (including AI policy). Experience here could involve writing legislation or white papers, engaging with policy makers or other research in AI policy and governance
Strong AI Safety generalist. For example, you have produced good AI safety research and have a good overview-level understanding of empirical, theory and conceptual approaches, or otherwise have a demonstrated ability to think clearly and carefully about AI safety.
Bonus: Research or engineering focused on frontier AI models or the AI tech stack. The role may involve creating or running model evaluations, benchmarking AI hardware, conducting scaling law experiments, and other empirical work.

The EEG Research Engineer will assist with EEG data collection, prototype assembly, and validation testing of next-generation neurotechnology systems. Key Qualifications

One year of graduate study in social sciences, anthropology, archaeology or cultural and heritage resource management fields may be substituted for the required experience and additional experience which has demonstrated that the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledges and abilities delineated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Experience with archaeological sites and in field or lab settings, oral history or interpretive work and a bachelor's in Anthropology or closely related discipline strongly preferred. Salary and Benefits
This is a part time, temporary, non-exempt position. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $26.51 - $38.62 per hour (step 1 - step 20). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 1, $26.51 an hour. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations.
