**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Anderson lab in the Cardiovascular Research Institute is looking for a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to assist with animal and cell-based experiments and with maintaining a mouse colony in the general support of a molecular biology research laboratory. The individual will be expected to achieve the ability to function independently. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are required. All necessary training will be provided, however experience in mouse handling, mammalian cell culture and transfection, and molecular biology techniques, such as Western blotting, PCR, qPCR, cloning, etc, are a plus. Under general guidance from the PI with latitude for exercising considerable independent judgment of handling lab techniques. This position has no official supervisory responsibility.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Perform molecular biology techniques and experiments in support of a research lab, ex. bacterial culture, mini- and maxi-prep of plasmid DNA, maintenance of mammalian cell culture lines, yeast culture, protein purification, etc.
+ Animal colony management for mouse colonies. Animal husbandry to include breeding, weaning, pairing, tail snip, and inventory maintenance.
+ Data entry into established database and spreadsheet for management of animal colonies; inventory control of animal numbers and UCAR accounts
+ Perform tissue harvests from adult mice and staged embryos and process using experimental procedures related to gene expression analysis (Realtime PCR, western blot, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization. lacZ reporter activity, etc.).
+ Independently and proactively perform general laboratory duties such as preparing various culture media (mammalian and bacterial), chemical solutions, reagents and re-stocking supplies for use by all lab members.
+ Inventory lab materials and order supplies, and tracking spending.
+ Write new laboratory formulae, procedures and protocols. Perform the technical training for new lab members including postdoctoral fellows in the lab: including animal handing and breeding, mouse genotyping,
+ Western blotting, bacteria plasmid culture and DNA purification.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
+ High School Diploma required.
+ Associate's degree in appropriate discipline (preferably biology).

The Research Specialist and Associate Curator for Black Play & Culture will play a critical role in the growth and interpretation of the world's most comprehensive public collection of playthings and historical materials related to play, through collections acquisition, writing for a public audience, exhibition development, and other related activities.

Objective:

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to certify IBM server and storage products for the worldwide market. Your role and responsibilities
At IBM, safety is innovation's foundation. As a Hardware Technician in Rochester, Minnesota, you'll play a critical role in ensuring IBM's Power and Storage hardware products meet global regulatory standards for safe installation and use.
You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers to perform EMC, safety, and/or Acoustics testing. You will work with engineers to certify and secure approvals for market release. This role blends hands-on lab work, engineering and IT Administration in a technician role to support world-wide hardware compliance, giving you the opportunity to grow and experience a wide variety of workloads.
