Required Qualifications:

Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification

Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance within state regulations
PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certifications

Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

As our Ecotoxicology Research Scientist, you will design and manage ecotoxicological studies that inform real-world actions to remediate toxics and safeguard fish health in the Puget Sound ecosystem.
As a key consultant on contaminant effects, you'll focus on guiding remediation and recovery efforts primarily in benthic habitats, leading both field and laboratory research, analyzing data using statistical models, and communicating findings through reports, publications, and presentations.
Your critical work will directly influence decisions that protect and restore Puget Sound's vital aquatic resources.
What to Expect-
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Ecotoxicology Research Scientist will,
Design, Plan, and Manage Ecotoxicological Research Studies:
* Determine contaminant research and analyses needs.
* Oversee evaluation of contaminant status and trends in the ecosystem and the harm they may cause to organisms.
* Analyze and interpret ecotoxicological data (e.g., analytical chemistry, stable isotopes, metabolomics), and life history data to evaluate the sources of toxic contaminants in the ecosystem, and the harm contaminants may cause to their health and viability.
* Oversee, implement, and manage all aspects of ecotoxicological research studies including staffing, budgeting, proposal writing, data acquisition and management, and oversight of field and lab activities.
Communicate Complex Scientific and Technical Information:
* Advise and consult on regional contaminant-related technical committees, planning and advisory panels, and management teams focused on remediating environmental toxics to help recover the Puget Sound ecosystem.
* Develop recommendations to inform and impact management actions intended to reduce contaminant exposure for aquatic species in Puget Sound.
* Publish ecotoxicological research findings in peer-reviewed journals, technical reports and other outlets.
Program Effectiveness - Work with TBiOS Team leadership to Ensure Program Effectiveness:
* Supervise the Biologist 3 leading the English sole monitoring survey and provide technical guidance and oversight related to English sole work products.
* Develop a research and work plan that identifies monitoring and research priorities and addresses information gaps and uncertainties resulting from findings from on-going TBiOS monitoring and regional contaminant research studies.

Field:
* Assist with the collection of fish or invertebrates from boats and along the Puget Sound shoreline which may include living on a boat for up to a week at a time, working in inclement weather, navigating rough seas that may cause motion sickness.
* Conduct shoreline and nighttime sampling in remote, rocky, or muddy areas, occasionally lifting heavy objects such as ice-filled coolers and baskets of fish on moving decks.
* Fish handled by staff may possess sharp or venomous spines or bite and assist with deploying and retrieving sampling nets from boat or shore.
* This position may involve working in or near water, including tasks that require navigating, negotiating, and performing duties related to water environments.
Lab/Office:
* Dissections and sample creation may occur in a mobile laboratory set up on a boat or an off-site location but mostly will occur at the NRB Marine Resources Lab.
* Haul frozen samples in and out of a walk-in freezer and may handle chemicals including formalin, alcohol, and various acids.
* Use of sharp instruments such as scalpels, knives, and syringes.
Schedule:
40 hours per week, the standard work schedule includes the potential for occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Schedules may vary based on business needs, time of year, and/or weather conditions. Alternative schedules may be considered based on business needs.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is required at infrequent intervals to attend meetings or to conduct fieldwork. This work requires driving long distances throughout western Washington, sometimes at night. During field surveys, the incumbent may spend up to five (5) days away from home on a boat or in motels.

* A Doctoral degree with a major in statistics, biometrics, ecotoxicology, ecology, or closely allied fields.
Option 2:
* A Master's degree in statistics, biometrics, ecotoxicology, ecology, or closely allied fields, with emphasis on statistical tools required to analyze temporal and spatial data.
AND
* Two (2) years of professional experience using statistical or mathematical procedures to analyze spatial and temporal trends, design and conducting ecological research studies, and communicate scientific findings.

Role Overview
The Research Scientist will be an integral part of Oumi's research team, focusing on advancing the state-of-the-art in large language models (LLMs), vision language models (VLMs), and related technologies. This role involves conducting cutting-edge research, contributing to open-source projects, and collaborating with other researchers and engineers. The Scientist will play a critical role in helping to develop a “Next” Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) instrument specifically designed for clinical medicine. Present methods for high-throughput sequencing are not suitable for many clinical applications, as all current NGS platforms lack the combination of high accuracy, rapid turnaround time, and low cost that would lead to robust clinical utility. The Ghajar Lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is searching for a research technician to aid in the conduct of first-in-class studies to profile seeds of metastases in breast cancer patient bone marrow.
A research technician position (full-time) is available immediately in a laboratory within Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center's Translational Research Program. The Ghajar Laboratory focuses on understanding the biology underlying disseminated tumor cell (DTC) dormancy and formulating therapeutic means to eradicate dormant DTCs. We are looking for meticulous individual who understands the urgency and importance of our work to join our team to help us understand DTC biology, in part by profiling human DTCs isolated from breast cancer patients. One outcome of this work will be identification of targets for immune-based therapies.
Responsibilities
Research Technician I
This position will work under the Principal Investigator and with the lab to:
Keep meticulous records on processed samples, storage conditions and data generated on a large human clinical study.
Prepare and present written or oral progress reports concerning studies including assembly, organization, and interpretation of data.
Conduct literature reviews to assist in determining most suitable methods to be used in research.
Adhere fastidiously to detailed protocols to process human bone marrow, index sort single DTCs, and generate single cell genomic and transcriptomic libraries.
Conduct immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on human tissue specimens.
Organize sequencing data for downstream processing.
Assist with follow up experiments in mice and in cell culture to test biologic and immunologic implications of human studies.
Perform statistical analyses on resulting data.
Perform other duties - including those related to lab management - as required.

Identify methodological problems in research protocol and implement modifications to optimize experimental results.

For this role in those locations, a reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for new hires is $20 USD to $32 USD per hour. No overtime work allowed, and the internship will be for 3 months or otherwise negotiated; salary upon potential, full-time conversion will be adjusted and further negotiated.
