Work with youth to support and educate in making healthier choices about alcohol and substance abuse. Establish rapport with youth. Create various action plans and standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent negative behaviors, suspensions and revocations from recreation facilities. Identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil. Provide access to culturally based activities, including teachings and ceremonies that are geared toward youth. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Provide emotional support to youths. Assess adolescents/teens needs and determine treatment plans. Identify and implement strategies that increase adolescents/teens success. Refer individual to appropriate support programs Indian Child Welfare, Oneida Police Department, AODA and mental health services as necessary. Perform data entry and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy of data, and ensuring pertinent, accurate and current information regarding the youth. Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer needs courteously and promptly. Enforce all rules and regulations as established by the Recreation Department. Actively participate in staff meetings. Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies. Maintain strict department security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.
