Center For Positive Changes (CFPC) is a 6-bed, Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP), committed to evaluating and addressing children, adolescent, and transitional age youth's unique behavioral health needs. We are seeking a licensed or pre-licensed therapist (Head of Service (HOS)) to join our clinical team who has high ethical standards and a desire to positively impact the lives of youth and families involved with Child Welfare Services and the Justice System. The HOS provides Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS), including an array of therapeutic approaches, to help youth and families develop insight into maladaptive behaviors impairing functioning. The HOS also educates and coaches children and families on using healthy social / emotional skills to more effectively cope with life stressors, in efforts to aid youth in successfully transitioning to a lower level of care. Using a trauma informed and strength-based lens, the HOS provides clinical direction to the Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) and treats youth with co-occurring disorders including mental health, substance use, physical health, development, and intellectual challenges. In collaboration with the MHRS using a recovery oriented approach, the HOS works closely with CFPC residential staff, social workers, probation officers, and other significant support people in each youth's life to provide appropriate treatment and coordination of care. Qualifications REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: A qualified candidate must be registered with the state of California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and meet requirements for one (1) or more of the following: Licensed or Pre-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT or AMFT) AND at least two (2) years of experience working in a residential treatment facility or outpatient mental health program, preferably with children and adolescents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Engage with clients and records notes about symptoms, medical history, and desired results. Inform clients of available massage formats and lotions/oils. Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body. Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body according to each client's instructions. Explain massage procedure and provide information about oils and creams used during massage. Assist clients in preparing for massages by providing them with gowns. Talk to clients (minimally) during massage treatments to ensure their wellbeing during the procedure. Possess a strong sense of compassion and great customer service skills Maintain client's records including demographic information, medical histories and appointments. Uphold the standards of hygiene and sterilization as directed by law. Maintain a constructive attitude and add toward a quality work environment. Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture. Document client's condition and progress. Always is well groomed and presentable, wearing appropriate YMCA staff shirt and nametag. Practice risk management by anticipating potential safety hazards and taking appropriate action to reduce or eliminate the risk while reacting quickly and effectively to any emergency. Has a thorough knowledge of all branch emergency procedures and assist with the emergency evacuation of the building and other special situation tasks, as needed. Actively participate and support the Annual Giving Campaign. All other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Minimum 500 hours of education, as well as a certificate of completion Must be licensed to practice massage therapy, which is satisfactory to the State Board for Massage Therapy. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications; Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date. Previous experience preferred.
