Summary of Job (brief description)
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific and clinical expert who strategically supports Soleno's medical and scientific objectives. The MSL is responsible for developing and managing peer-to-peer relationships with a variety of health care professionals.
The MSL will be accountable to engage in high quality communications regarding the scientific and clinical applications of Soleno's investigational portfolio to a variety of external stakeholders as well as to obtain important insights about current practice, treatment landscape, and emerging clinical and scientific data. In addition, the MSL will build strong internal relationships and collaborate cross functionally in a compliant manner.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain scientific relationships with national, regional, and local key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other health care providers.
Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information and engage in meaningful peer-to-peer scientific exchange.
Stay informed of medical and scientific developments regarding Prader Willi Syndrome by continuously reviewing literature in the field, monitoring competitor activities, networking with experts, and attending relevant conferences.
Develop territory specific KOL and account plans including KOL profiles, pre-call planning, and follow up plans.
Support national, regional, and local scientific congresses including KOL engagement, poster/abstract coverage, booth, and company debriefs.
Provide internal stakeholders with feedback and actionable insights from interactions and discussions with HCPs.
Facilitation of investigator-initiated studies.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners on internal projects and external initiatives including Medical Affairs project support of in-house initiatives.
Act as a lead on large projects, gather and address feedback from stakeholders; manage without authority.
Provide mentorship to new hires when requested.
Maintain high ethical standards and integrity in all interactions and communications.
Qualifications
Advanced degree MD, PhD, or PharmD is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 5-7 years MSL experience.
Must have prior launch experience; 3 years of orphan disease experience and/or Prader-Willi Syndrome is a plus.
Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time efficiently.

Position Summary:
The Youth and Family Liaison is a new position that will play a pivotal role in supporting 40-80 youth participants and their families within CCMI's Summer Youth Corps (SYC) residential program as well as the community-based program expansion (set to launch in 2026). SYC is a conservation workforce development program for youth, ages 15-18, led by AmeriCorps members, ages 19-30. SYC has historically been a residential program based in northern Minnesota and operated across greater Minnesota and neighboring states. The community-based expansion will be a non-residential, day program based in St. Paul and operate across the Twin Cities metro. Youth and AmeriCorps members in both programs will connect to the natural environment while they work together for six weeks in small groups called crews. Individuals will gain natural resource fieldwork experience and develop workforce readiness skills (e.g. leadership) while completing conservation service projects on public lands. SYC is dedicated to accessibility for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community and runs American Sign Language (ASL) programming.
The Youth and Family Liaison will facilitate a close working relationship between youth, their families, and other SYC and CCMI staff. They will be the primary contact for youth and families and responsible for managing the communication and collaboration necessary to fulfill the administrative aspects before, during, and after youth programming. This position will work closely with SYC program managers, recruitment, and human resources staff to recruit and retain youth participants. Programming runs in the summer months and requires some weekend hours and overnight travel. In the off-season, the Youth and Family Liaison will support program development through collaborative continuous quality improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Youth Program Recruitment & Onboarding
Collaborate with the recruitment team to help build and maintain relationships with key sourcing channels for SYC's target audiences, including youth ages 15-18 and members of the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) community.
Organize and host information sessions to educate perspective youth & families and attend outreach events to promote SYC programming, eligibility requirements, and the application process. This includes occasional travel to participate in job/career fairs and other community events.
Facilitate clear communication during the recruitment and onboarding process with both youth members and their families, including verifying receipt and completion of pre-hire documents, supporting the medical review and reasonable accommodation processes, and keeping youth and families informed of next steps.

Serve as the primary contact for youth and their families before, during, and after their participation in the SYC program. This includes but is not limited to answering phone calls, responding to voice and text messages, and monitoring program email accounts.

Engage with families to discuss any behavior management or disciplinary issues that arise, seeking input and ensuring consistent communication regarding youth conduct and the resolution of any challenges.

Administration
Maintain accurate program records by ensuring all youth member data and documentation (e.g. hiring documents, timecards, medical forms, behavior reports) is organized, up to date, and properly stored.
Oversee the administration of knowledge surveys and program evaluations at the start and end of programs to gather feedback to assess program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement efforts.
Oversee the youth performance evaluation process.
Contribute to the tracking, collection, and analysis of data such as participation rates, program outcomes, quotes/stories, and participant feedback. Help prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including funders and partners.

Prototypes, a program of HealthRIGHT 360's residential substance use disorder (SUD) program is a new program contracted with Department of Public Health's (DPH) Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program for residential drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services for up to 99 adult men and women: 33 that are for men who are judicially involved, 33 for men, and 33 for women. The BHC's residential DMC program will employ 100 people and works closely with the other BHC programs to provide a continuum of services for low income/Medi-Cal population. The program is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and will serve all LA County residents.
The Community Outreach & Education Specialist conducts outreach directly to potential clients (street outreach, jail in-reach, shelter visits, community events) to increase awareness and understanding of SUD treatment generally, and of the services at MRT BHC specifically. Uses motivational interviewing and harm reduction skills, as well as trauma-informed approach, to encourage eligible clients to choose treatment. Also conducts outreach to other service providers and stakeholders to market the MRT BHC program, to increase awareness of its services and target population among providers who might refer eligible clients to the program. Educates community members, service providers, MRT BHC partners, and other County department personnel about SUD, treatment, and care coordination. Knowledgeable about all of the above and responsive to client, family, and stakeholder questions.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Service:
Engage potential clients at various locations (e.g., streets, community services organizations, shelters, etc.), at frequent and regular intervals to educate and motivate them to engage in SUD treatment services.
Establishes and maintains cooperative linkages with other providers (e.g., hospital emergency departments, law enforcement, public, private, and other social, economic, health, legal, vocational, and mental health partners) to make appropriate referrals that address unmet client needs.
Conduct presentations for other County departments and partners in the MRT BHC and on the MLKCH campus, as well as potential referral partners on SUD treatment including, but not limited to: the SUD treatment system, the referral process, and how to improve care coordination.
Promote culturally and linguistically relevant public awareness about SUDs and inform the community about available SUD treatment options.
May need to also provide client care hours and submit progress notes within 72 hours of service delivery.
Documentation must maintain in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR, DMH, and SAPC standards.
Assists the client with intake by completing case management assessment and entering financial and benefit information.
Supports the client in apply for Medi-cal or transfer Medi-cal county when appropriate.
Assess the client's case management needs and completes all releases of information.
Connects the client to benefits, mental health, physical health, employment, probation, DCFS, employment, housing, community resources, outpatient substance use disorder services, and aftercare.
Coordinates communication and external service linkage including: assisting with scheduling appointments, communicating with probation, scheduling child visits, communicating with DCFS, obtaining all court minute orders, providing appointment reminders for therapy and psychiatrist.
May completes the VI-SPDAT and connects the client to safe housing options.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree in social sciences field required; bachelor's degree in social work preferred.
CPR certified preferred - Registration or Certification as Substance Abuse Counselor from an approved/accredited California agency.

Experience:
