Rogue Valley Symphony company history timeline
Doctor Palmer had been locating, recruiting and organizing musicians in the Rogue Valley for around two years prior to the first concert which occurred on November 16,1967 at Medford’s Mid-High School auditorium.
RVS was founded in 1967 by Frederick Palmer, an assistant professor of music at Southern Oregon College.
In approximately 2004, under the baton of Arthur Shaw, the orchestra started offering five concert series consisting of three performances in the three communities.
Martin has served as Music Director of the Rogue Valley Symphony in Ashland, Oregon since 2010.
