This position will provide nursing care to all patients, ensuring adequate care and nursing standards are met. What you'll need: At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. However, BSN is preferred Current Colorado Registered Nurse license Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association Computer experience required secondary to the electronic medical record One year of med/surgical experience preferred. Certified in administering chemotherapy medications within six months of hire date. What you'll do: Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice. Responsible for assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted nursing and hospital standards of care relevant to acute care nursing. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Knowledgeable with safe handling and administering chemotherapy agents on a daily basis. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patients. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents Responds to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients. Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
