1937

Schmidt’s Auto began operations in 1937.

1946

At the Dealership, our service operation kept the business rolling until new cars were once again sold in 1946.

1950

The decade of the 1950's saw Front Pontiac relocate to East Third Street in Perrysburg next to the railroad tracks.

1991

During 1991 Ed Schmidt merged with Schmidt Leasing, which offers leasing and daily rentals to a variety of different customers including internal operations.

1994

In 1994, it was 2.2 percent of sales.

In 1994, Carton's Raleigh store sold 4,050 cars at an average price of $13,664 to gross $455.3 million, according to Lisa Merle & Co.

Dolman Communications reported that during the 1994 model year, 28.7 percent of new personal-use vehicles were leased rather than purchased.

1995

Statistics as of March 1995 from the American Leasing Association (ALA) show the average retail cost of a new car was $19,925.

An April 1995 issue of the Advertising Journal said DeLeon Automotive Group, an auto dealer chain, planned a three-year, $400,000 project to retrain nearly 500 employees.

An October, 1995 issue of Corp. explained that Caldwell sells later-model, well-maintained used cars, and Mr.

Assets of the company were at $10 million when it was sold in 1995.

As of 1995, United States franchise dealerships numbered 22,417.

1996

It plans to complete at least one of these transactions in the first quarter of 1996.

2001

Leasing Now projects that over one million used car leases will be signed during 2001.

2008

In 2008, Schmidt’s partnered with Cummings Engines to pilot a zero emission diesel engine.

2010

In 2010, Schmidt’s added to our fleet “Sparky” – Our neighborhood all electric service vehicle.
