SUMMARY: Provide security for indoor, national entertainment events. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide guests with proactive visibility that will enhance their entertainment experience and give guests directions
Provide general security to include venue patrols, backstage entry control, watch for and address issues related to alcohol consumption
Watch for and address breaches of security, crowd management issues, persons in unauthorized areas and safety hazards
Provide efficient screening of guests entering the venue for prohibited items using bag checks while utilizing walk-through metal detectors and wand devices
Provide escorts and security for entertainers, their facilities and cordoned areas
Respond to incidents of medical emergencies, fire, bomb threats, active shooter, severe weather and disorderly conduct

Viterbo University is looking for an On-call Campus Safety & Event Officer. Protects campus community members, guests, and property; prevents crime and disorder; identifies and reports safety and security hazards; and confirms that emergency equipment is in working order. Provide Safety and Security during events on Campus that include but are not limited to Bright Star Performances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform foot patrol in campus facilities and on campus grounds for general purposes of crime prevention and security; provide protection of university students, employees, guests and property.
Provide Security for Bright Star Performances in the Fine Arts Center.
Respond to and follow up on complaints, disturbances, and or requests to prevent potentially dangerous situations from occurring on campus property.
Investigate incidents and violations, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and write incident reports.
Identify hazards to safety and security; report them to the Director of Campus Safety.
Monitor surveillance system, fire alarm system, and other emergency notification systems.
Assist in preparing administrative and operational reports and maintaining files of no contact, no trespassing, protection and restraining orders.
Act as a liaison to outside emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
Assist with maintaining organized and effective security operations in the Campus Safety Office.
Conduct and document routine inspections of AEDs, Code Blue emergency phones, elevator emergency phones, fire extinguishers, etc.
Carry out other responsibilities as delegated or assigned.
Will be required to work holidays and cover vacations as needed.
General Requirements/Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent and prior experience in security field required. Must possess CPR/AED certifications at time of appointment or the ability to obtain such certifications within 6 months of appointment and maintain such certification for the duration of employment. 2. Vacation time consistent with years of experience (rounded down to a whole number) in the Association contract. Example: An officer with 7 years and 11 months of service lateralling would receive earned vacation pay of an Association member with 7 years' experience (15 days).

The Department of Public Safety at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for non-certified officers to join our team.
This is a 24 hour operation, 365 days a year. Officers will be expected to work holidays that fall within their regular work schedule as well as during home football games and other major events that occur on campus. Expected to report for duty when major natural disasters or other emergency situation affecting the campus occur.
Permanent, 12 Months, Full Time, 40 hours/week, Rotating Schedule, Shift assignment to be determined after completion of training program. During training will rotate through all shifts. Days off are also on a rotating schedule.
In accordance with the general requirements for law enforcement officers under Iowa Admin. Code 501-2.1, the applicant selected for this position, both uncertified and certified, must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have and maintain a valid U.S. state driver's license and the ability to be authorized to drive University vehicles.
Non-Certified:
This is an entry level police officer position. The officer will attend and must successfully complete the Iowa Law Enforcement Basic Level I or Level II Academy to become certified as a peace officer in the state of Iowa. Upon successful completion of the academy, the officer will return to the ISU campus and be placed under the direct supervision of a police training officer. During this period, the officer will perform all the duties of a law enforcement officer, including patrolling the university campus and outlying areas; enforcing local, state, and federal laws as well as campus rules and regulations; responding to calls for service; initiating police reports; performing follow-up investigations as needed; directing traffic, and other duties as assigned.
During basic training, will attend the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy M-F. During field training, will rotate through all shifts with varying hours and days off. Actual shift assignment will follow completion of all required training.
All qualified applicants will be invited to take a written test and physical test the week of January 19th, 2026. More details about the testing and testing dates will be provided later.

Education & Experience:
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 2 years' experience in the Public Safety field, preferably in entertainment
Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, PP, Word, Access), and MS Outlook
Direct experience with automated fire/safety systems, automated camera systems and basic computer proficiency is preferred
Preferred
Previous experience with automated fire/life safety systems and automated camera systems
Previous experience with a hotel, sports team, and/or convention center

2nd shift Loss Prevention Officer
What You'll Do
Oversees, observes, and supervises employees entering and exiting the building.
Walks through and around the exterior of the entire facility conducting Saftey/Hazard/Security audits.
Continually monitors the hazard materials storeroom and cleans up spills.
Oversees and supervises the disposition of damaged items, loads items onto push carts, and moves to safe location.
Walks throughout the facility and conducts general investigations, inventory counts and cycle counts.
Use computers and office equipment.
Must read Standard Operating Procedures, hear fire/security alarms and phones, and be able to monitor CCTV.
Provides trainings to other employees.
Perform housekeeping duties, keep floors clean, and keep work areas neat and clean.
2ND SHIFT
Sunday 1:30pm- 10:00pm; Monday- Thursday 2:00pm- 10:30pm
Required Skills
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
Experience with CCTV preferred.
Able to work a varied schedule to include early mornings, swing shift, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
CPR/First Aide Certified or able to obtain certification through company provided training.
