Hiring Construction Operators-Laborers immediately in the Detroit, MI area! The Operator is responsible for the operation, care, and maintenance of the boiler/boiler truck used for various installations. In this role, you will do more than drive or operate one of our vehicles. You will also play an important role with the crew and assist with performing labor duties outdoors at our job sites. If hired, you will be required to report to our Howell, MI office for onboarding. The starting rate on day one will be $27.53-$28.96 per hour depending on Operator level and receive an increase at your one year of employment. Job Summary Receives and collects refuse at designated convenience site. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. -Gathers and carries containers from convenience site customers and dumps refuse from containers into appropriate bins. -Gathers separated recycling materials and dumps them into appropriate recycling bins at the convenience site. -Assists in loading, unloading, and cleaning garbage truck at the convenience site as necessary. -Starts hoisting device that raises refuse bin attached to rear of truck as necessary. -Performs other duties as directed at the convenience site. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Education and Experience Required: -High school diploma or G.E.D, and zero to four years previous experience. -Preferred: High school diploma or G.E.D, plus additional or specialized training -Zero to four years previous experience. Work Environment Listed below are key points regarding environmental demands and work environment of the job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. -Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc) as part of the workday. -Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds occasionally. -Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc) occasionally. -Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday. -Normal setting for this job is: refuse convenience site.
