POSITION SUMMARY:
The NAR/Care Specialist provides direct care to residents to maintain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through quality care.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform nursing care responsibilities, assisting residents with all NAR nursing cares in accordance with care plans and all safety protocols.
* Maintain efficient practices when responding to resident's needs, maintaining cleanliness of facility, and ensuring equipment upkeep.
* Assist Nutritional Services staff with serving of meals and enhancing the mealtime experience.
* Provide assistance and respond to call lights, phone and in-person request for information as needed.
* Maintain and complete all required documentation and charting on the computer or on forms in an accurate and timely manner according to policies and procedures.
* Maintain general cleanliness and safety of facility and resident rooms, providing assistance and follow-up with incidents occur.
* Continually seek opportunities to meet residents' social and psychosocial needs through planned and spontaneous activities, engaging residents in meaningful conversations and facilitating activities as instructed.
* Support various other Nursing responsibilities as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The online portion offers flexibility so you can complete the course content when it works for you! The hands-on skills and supervised practical learning are completed right on our campus. This training provides graduates with the education and skills they need to pass the state exam and start a rewarding career as a Registered Nursing Assistant (NAR) with GRH. If you like to learn in an interactive, engaging, and fun environment - this program is for you! The work we do here matters, and as a member of our team, you will make an impact.

Selected applicants will interview with Human Resources and the Nursing Assistant Supervisor. If chosen for the program, the student must commit to become an employee of Glencoe Regional Health upon completion of the program. Once employed, and upon successful completion of the 90-day orientation period requirements, each student is then eligible for a $1500 stipend. This stipend represents time spent completing online learning modules, hands-on skills learning, and practical training.
