SISTERS OF ST JOSEPH OF ST M company history timeline

1972

With a 1972 Chapter recommendation that “the provinces be allowed to establish commissions to initiate lay associate membership on an experimental basis,” the congregation, faithful to the original intent of Father Medaille, formally reintroduced lay association into our reality.

1985

Sisters of St Joseph of Boston Associate Program began in 1985.

1987

The congregation opened a mission in Chile in 1987.

2000

In January, 2000 a house was purchased on Stellman Road in Roslindale, a multi-cultural neighborhood with many new immigrants.

2007

In 2007, the Cleveland founding community joined with our other 6 communities to form the Congregation of St Joseph.

2013

The sisters officially left Chile in 2013, but left a group of dedicated associates to carry on the charism.

2016

Today Although the property on Division Road in Tipton was sold to the Diocese of Lafayette in 2016, many sisters still live and minister in the area, while others have relocated to our other centers.

2017

Transformations Spirituality Center will also be housed in the new facility, which should be completed in 2017.
