About the Role:
The Sr. Field Mechanic with MYR Group you'll travel to project sites across the designated service area, supporting our field teams. You'll use your skills to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs safely and professionally. Location Details:This position will ideally be located in Troutdale, OR.
Travel Details: This position requires travel throughout Northern California, Oregon, and Washington states, (including overnight) to project locations, supporting teams to ensure successful operation of the equipment. At times, the Mechanic will be required to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours and work overtime including weekends and holidays. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. When travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided.

Essential Functions
Perform mechanic assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations
Perform a full range of servicing and repairs on various types of fleet equipment, including malfunctioning parts and systems. Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and company schedules
Frequently travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of equipment. Must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
May provide oversight for less experienced mechanics
Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment
Maintain records of time and materials used on each job, the condition of the equipment, and the repairs performed
Track information in computer software; ensure repair orders and weekly timesheets are complete and accurate
Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
Work in accordance with DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Interstate Authority, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other rules and regulations as required
Participate in training programs; maintain and update safety skills and knowledge; keep current with hazardous material training requirements
Other duties as assigned

About You:
Qualifications
Must have five years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair; equivalent trade school/technical school time may be applied toward this requirement OR have completed a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair and have four years of experience.
Must be capable of operating company vehicles and equipment on a daily basis. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC Report.
A valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) is desired but not required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic
Proven ability to work independently and without direct supervision
Good teamwork skills to work effectively with coworkers

Salary $66,560-$83,200 / year
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

MECHANIC must-haves:
The mechanic must have their own tools and be willing to travel to our job sites for equipment servicing. They will use the Durr vehicle for this purpose and must possess a valid driver's license and have a clear motor vehicle record (MVR), so they will not need to use their own gas.
The Mechanic must be ok or a road mechanic with experience in working on heavy equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to troubleshoot broken machinery and identify issues such as battery problems, wiring faults, or leaks in the field. This mechanic should also have skills in welding, changing tracks on machines, and, most importantly, diagnosing equipment problems.
Adheres to all safety regulations and reports any violations to field supervision immediately.

* Knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, and diesel truck diagnostic software.
* Must own hand tools.
* CDL/DOT preferred.

Responsibilities
Ability to Review project documents for understanding of required Mechanical Insulation systems, Insulation product materials requirements and Insulation product installation requirements.
Requires the knowledge of installing various insulation material on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, and pluming piping. Including duct wrap and ridged board, fiberglass pipe covering, Armaflex, Foam glass, Phenolic and PVC or Aluminum Jacketing.
Self-driven nonsupervisory position that can work as an individual and with a supportive install team and construction unit. Willing to support other trade teams during Insulation down time.
Ability to measure and make material lists for work areas.
Work safe and efficiently with DynaTen and all project team members.
Participate in training, safety training and mentoring and directing apprentices and other project team members.
Maintain and Support project team with a safe and clean work environment, personal protection equipment (PPE), company tools, rentals, and personal hand tools.
Fulfills responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and processes.
Requirements
4 years of Commercial Mechanical Insulation experience.
Required Hand tools for trade.
OSHA 10 (DynaTen will certify if needed).
Reliable transportation.
Lift up to 60 pounds, handle heavier items with team, lifts, work of ladders and elevated work areas and platforms, and in small areas and heights.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to integrity and quality.
Ability to navigate documents, drawings, and software using an electronic tablet a plus.
Positive attitude and self-motivated.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use working with tools. Wear protective equipment (PPE) and work clothing and boots. This job will require physical exertion, such as climbing, lifting, and carrying heavy objects, reach with arms and/or hands. This position is performed in a non-climate-controlled temperature environment, working offsite at various construction sites, and building locations. Position expectations to work full 40-hour work weeks and maintain a flexible work schedule to achieve project objectives.
