1959

Therefore in 1959 Reydel produced its first plastic parts for an automaker entering the automotive market.

1965

Founded in 1965, the Southwestern Mission Research Center is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to the cause of supporting Spanish Borderlands research and education.

Charles W. Polzer, S.J., a group of people got together in 1965 and the result was the incorporation of the Southwestern Mission Research Center.

1967

John Bannon, S.J. A logo was designed by Don Bufkin and Charlie Polzer, and the SMRC-Newsletter began in 1967.

1969

Reydel’s first Instrument Panel manufactured by the teams in Gondecourt was made for the Renault 12 in 1969, then followed the R 10 and R 16.

1974

What has become SMRC’s signature Kino Mission Tours began in 1974, the idea of Tucsonan Lea Ramirez Ward, who originally organized the Sonoran trips as a fund-raising endeavor of the League of Mexican American Women and the Tucson Museum of Art League.

Innovation continued as the first “thermoformed” Instrument Panel was produced in 1974, a proof of the unique know how of the company’s engineers.

1980

The following years, the company went through a diversification of products and activities opening subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and France and in 1980 it became a dedicated automotive supplier.

1994

The just in time activity started in Gondecourt and the company continued to adapt to the automakers’ demanding needs, always improving the quality of its products and obtaining in 1994 a Quality Award from Fiat.

2007

Two years later, when the leagues turned to other projects, SMRC began sponsoring the church visits with assistance from Lea, who continued to be a major factor in their success until she finally retired from the SMRC board in 2007.

2008

Consistent with these recommendations, an interim coordinator position was created in 2008 to manage the university’s response to reports of sexual misconduct.

2009

In June 2009, the coordinator position was institutionalized as the Sexual Misconduct Response Coordinator (SMRC) reporting to both the president of the university and vice president for student life.

2014

On November 1st 2014, Cerberus Capital Management acquired the Interiors business of Visteon to create a new player in the automotive market.
