The Lead Cook at the Gaston Food Hub is a highly skilled, hands-on culinary professional who serves as the frontline supervisory leader for the kitchen staff during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of all culinary operations across the hub's four dining concepts. The Lead Cook coaches fellow cooks, enforces strict food safety protocols, and acts as the immediate operational support to the Sous Chef.

Operational Leadership & Coaching
Lead the Line: Serve as the designated shift leader in the absence of the Sous Chef or Manager, directing the flow of production and ensuring all stations are set up and running efficiently.
Task Delegation: Assist management in delegating daily tasks and ensuring that all Food Service Workers and Cooks understand and execute their assignments correctly.
Training and Quality Control: Provide hands-on coaching and training to kitchen staff on specific cooking techniques, recipe execution, and safety procedures. Conduct regular checks of food output for quality, temperature, and plate presentation consistency.

Assist with verifying and receiving deliveries, and ensure strict adherence to the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation system.

JIFFY LUBE LIVE
Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, is an outdoor amphitheater in suburban Prince William County, about 35 miles west of Washington, D.C. Owned and operated by Live Nation, the amphitheater can seat 25,262: 10,444 in reserved seats and 14,818 on the lawn.
Legends oversees all food and beverage operations in concessions, premium and catering. The chef will be responsible for execution of all culinary areas.
THE ROLE
The Chef position will report to the General Manager and will be responsible to coordinate the day to day operations of the venue.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Ability to set up and prepare all food items; opening and closing duties; replenishment and rotation of stock as directed by the General Manager- Concessions and Regional Executive Chef.
* Set up of non-food items for shift; high level of sanitation awareness and conscientiousness; professional, safe, and efficient manner.
* Inputting daily event sheets and daily reports.
* Production of menu items in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards.
* Ability to follow directions precisely and consistently; maintenance of work area and proper food storage; opening and closing duties.
* Adheres to company guidelines and house rules, always exceeds guest expectations.
* Assist in staffing, scheduling, training, and counseling of event staff.
* Ability to interact with guests and staff in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Must have extensive knowledge of food and beverage menu, specials and services offered.
* Ability to assure compliance with company service standards, company inventory and cash control procedures.
* Work as a team with fellow associates and other service departments within the amphitheater.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
* All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
* Professional training through a culinary education or working in a fast-paced high-volume fine dining restaurant/catering facility, full service casual dining preferred.
* Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards.
* Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
* Ability to multi task in a fast paced, team orientated setting.
* Must be able to read, speak and write in English.
* Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
* Ability to work all events, including: extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.

The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting unit management in the production, cooking and service of all hot and cold food required at the unit. This position may be responsible for supervising aspects of the kitchen, staff and production.
Job Responsibilities:
Produce, prepare, and cook foods to include soups, sauces, salads, entrees, catering and all other items determined by the Chef Manager.
Station set - up prior to service with appropriate equipment and food to be determined by the supervisor.
Assist management in purchasing, inventory control and training.
Maintain a clean and safe work area via supervisor instruction and applicable health, safety and food handling regulations.
Provide exemplary customer service in a courteous, helpful manner at all times.
Essential Requirements:
Comprehend both verbal and written food recipes, production orders, cooking instructions and techniques in to preparation of daily menus.
Background in banquet or catering production preferred.
Follow all outlined health and safety regulations with regard to equipment use and personal hygiene.
Positive “can-do” attitude
Receive, unpack, unwrap, date, rotate and stow deliveries.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Lift and move food, food containers and other non-food items from floor position to no higher than one's own height.
Adhere to client and company protocols related to COVID-19 workplace safety and sanitation standards.
