In 1905, promoters formulated plans for the first trolley line between the city of Somers Point and the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
The Shore Fast Line was officially complete in 1906 and brought thousands of people to the city annually.
During the 1940's, while Charlie's operated a tap room in the front part of the building, the back section, where the dining room is today, was Gerety's Market, Burger Hut and Mother's Kitchen at various times.
Charlie's has been part of Somers Point's landscape and community roots since 1944.
Established in 2002, this small park, just a short walk from the Somers Point Submarine Veterans Memorial, honors those who have served and died in military service.
