Qualifications:
Master s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or closely related field from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas license as a speech-language pathology granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American SpeechLanguage Hearing Association (preferred).
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in the effective use of technology.
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Role Overview:
As an SLP, you will develop and implement individualized education/treatment programs for students whose ability to communicate has been impacted by developmental differences, disabilities, or injuries. Key Responsibilities:
Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including case records, test results, statistical data, and test inventories.
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the areas of psychological services, assessment, placement, and planning for special education services.
Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
Supervise SLP assistants or interns according to district procedures, consistent with Texas Board of Examiners in SpeechLanguage Pathology and American SpeechLanguage Hearing Association guidelines.

Therapy
* Conduct independent evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders and conditions and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in Individual Education Plus (IEP). Evaluate student progress and make determination regarding therapy services.
* Develop clinical management strategies or procedures and diagnostic statements.
* Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee. Assist in interpretation of assessment date, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders or conditions according to district procedures.
Consultation
* Consult with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the accomplishment of therapy goals, the needs of the student, and involvement in remedial process.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom activities to improve communication skills of students.
* Provide professional development in assigned schools to help school personnel identify and work more effectively with students with communication deficits.
Student Management
* Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity level and interest of students.
* Establish control and administer discipline according to the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Program Management
* Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of speech-language pathology services and make changes based on the findings.
* Participate in the selection of equipment and instructional materials.
* Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
* Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.

Role Mission:
The SpeechLanguagePathologist Intern (SLP Intern) is a key member of the Special Programs team and partners with regional instructional leaders, campus leaders, and teachers to maximize student outcomes. As the SLP Intern, you will be responsible for setting ambitious goals for IDEA student achievement and investing students and families in accomplishing them. What You'll Do - Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
Review IEPs and ensure 100% implementation of extensive knowledge and provide top quality speech therapy services.
Create IEPs aligned to instruction with the collaboration of parents, general educators, special educators, and interventionists.
Monitor students' therapy and academic progress throughout the year in order to update goals and request additional testing when deemed necessary.
Ensure 100% compliance with ARDs by reviewing Special Education Student Rosters for Annual ARDs and Re-Evaluations due dates on a weekly basis.
Schedule Annual ARDs and Re-Evaluation ARDs prior to due date to ensure 100% compliance.
Facilitate ARDs and prepare ARD documents in accordance with students' progress, archive ARD documents, and submit signature pages within specified timely to Manager.
For dual ARDs, schedule Annual ARDs and Re-Evaluation ARDs prior to due date with Diagnostician, Licensed Specialist School Psychology, and/or Occupational Therapist to ensure 100% compliance.
For dual ARDs, participate in ARDs and update IEPs, Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance, and schedule of service in accordance with students' progress.
Ensure 100% compliance by completing Speech and Language Initials and Re-Evaluations prior to due date as per Texas Education Agency (TEA) timeframe.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge in the appropriate selection of assessment tools, conducting assessments, interpreting, and identifying students with communication disorders and determine eligibility for services according to IDEA Public Schools Policies and Procedures, TEA Guidelines, and Licensing Boards.
For qualifying students, develop appropriate speech IEPs aligned to instruction and schedule of service in accordance to the students' academic needs.
Maintain Therapy Notes, Tracking Logs, ARD Logs, and Evaluation Logs on a daily basis and review with the Manager on a weekly basis.
Submit Therapy Logs on a Quarterly Basis to their Manager.
Maintain SHARS (Medicaid) records and submit SHARS billing on a monthly basis.
Ensure and monitor students' progress in order to complete progress reports on a quarterly basis.
Participate in Annual Performance with their Manager and submit documentation.
Communicate a shared vision and shared responsibility to establish and promote efficient implementation of RTI at the school-level throughout the various TIERs.
Support the RTI Team in providing recommendations for the implementation of speech interventions with high levels of fidelity.
Conduct formal assessments, planning, and scheduling of ARDs alongside the Diagnostician, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, and/or Occupational Therapist in order to report evaluation results within TEA timeframe to the ARD Committee.

A day in the life of one of our therapists can look like:
Traveling to clients' homes to provide individually tailored therapy
Documenting therapy visits and contacting families and case managers to share updates
Utilizing and augmenting the resources we provide to use in therapy
Looking to hire passionate and committed SLP-Assistants who are dedicated to serving adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Kaufman area. As the #1 adult IDD therapy provider in Texas, Soundly Speaking works closely with dayhab staff and families to serve our inspiring clients ages 21 and up.
Soundly Speaking provides both in-person and teletherapy services to our clients. Based on an hourly wage, we expect our SLP-Assistants to:
Treat a wide range of speech and language disorders
Provide detailed therapy to achieve short and long term goals as part of a comprehensive treatment plan
Be adaptable to the circumstance and work with their supervisor and case managers
Turn in paperwork in a 24 hour timeline
Maintain confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA, State, and Federal Regulations
Communicate with families and case managers about the progression of therapy

Occasional free access to Continuing Education Units as approved by ASHA for yearly license

A valid license is obtained after completion of a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders, 25 Clinical and 25 Observation TDLR-approved hours are also required for a Texas license.

How you'll contribute
The SpeechLanguagePathologist evaluates and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, supporting patient recovery and communication improvement.
Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs
Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals.
Document evaluations, treatments and patient progress accurately.
Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current SLP license and ASHA Certification in the state of Texas. Additional Requirements include:
Master's degree in Speech -Language Pathology
Experience in an acute or rehab setting preferred
CPR certification required
