What Can I Expect as a BehaviorTechnician?
Behaviortechnicians work in our highly specialized programs where we serve individuals with exceptional levels of interfering behavioral and mental health needs. These individuals may have a history of high-risk behaviors, crisis situations, and multiple failed placements.
These homes have been extensively modified to support daily behaviors and ensure the safety of residents through consistent interventions.
In this role, you will implement Behavior Support Plans under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, work closely with a small caseload (max 3 individuals), and support clients in developing essential life skills. You will assist with de-escalation, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all clients.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
· Facilitate Individualized Treatment Plans: Implement personalized treatment plans to address the unique needs and goals of each individual.
· Promote Skill Acquisition: Encourage and support the development of new skills through structured activities and guidance.
· One-on-One Interaction: Provide focused, individualized attention to enhance personal growth and development.
· Ensure Quality Care: Deliver high standards of care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of individuals.

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and support to patients in a residential behavioral health setting. BHTs promote safety, recovery, and engagement by monitoring patient well-being, facilitating daily routines, and assisting the clinical and nursing teams in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:
JOB DUTIES:
Communicate and enforce facility program rules and ensure compliance in a firm but fair and professional manner.
Communicate patient behavior with immediate supervisor and clinical team as appropriate.
Address problem behaviors as needed through verbal de-escalation techniques.
Adhere to time schedules
Maintain healthy and professional boundaries with patients and staff
Ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear, accurate and legible.
Keep clinical records secure at all times.
Encourage patient to maintain Recovery post-discharge
Ability to work with diverse personalities.
Understand and apply the program's clinical philosophy
Demonstrate good strategic and problem-solving skills
Accept constructive criticism and utilize supervision and feedback for professional growth.
Address problems noted by supervisor
Communicate all urgent matters with immediate supervisor.
Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility
Pursue professional development through participation in education and training programs
Function well as a team member and contribute positively to the team and organization.
Maintain good communication, both written and verbal.
Assist nurses during intake as well as taking vital signs and weights. Notify nurse of any abnormalities
May provide for additional holistic activities as per employee's certification (i.e. Yoga, Massage Therapy, Meditation, etc.).
May provide for transportation of patients.
During State of Emergency, ensures appropriate Behavioral Health Technician staffing levels are maintained at all times and may be required to remain onsite throughout the State of Emergency period.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Minimum 2 years patient care experience OR; 1 year patient care experience + Associate's degree required OR;
Alternatively, successful completion of the ARS training through the BHT I required.
Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with adult patients (18+) preferred.
Prior experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or human services in roles with emphasis involving direct customer or client service experience, strongly preferred.
CPR and Standard First Aid certification or in process of obtaining preferred.

Responsibilities:
Work as part of an integrative treatment team implementing compassionate clinical care
Facilitate therapeutic interventions, process groups, mindfulness sessions and educational groups
Help clients navigate an interactive schedule which includes education, sports, meditation, yoga and adventure activities
Lead clients on overnight adventure activities (hiking, camping, canoeing)
Provide a high level of physical and emotional safety to our clients
Scheduling:
BHT work onsite 7.5 days on and 6.5 days off. They provide direct support for our clients throughout the day and into the evenings.
Staff are provided with meals during their scheduled shifts as well as staff living quarters for the purpose of leisure time and sleeping arrangements
BHT remain onsite during their scheduled 7.5-day shift
