    CASE AIDE - FOSTER CARE Program: Foster Care Services - Albany, New York Type: Full-time Pay Range: $18.91 - $23.58 (Hourly) Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexed schedule Job Overview: The Foster Care Case Aide provides administrative and operational support for the agency's Foster Care Program. The Case Aide assists with the logistics of departmental operations, including family visits and service plan review meetings, supporting the transportation, care, and supervision of children during these events. This vital position assists the Family Specialists in ensuring that successful case activities occur for our foster care families and foster parents. Transportation may also be needed for a child to access medical appointments, educational events, mental health counseling appointments, and visits with a variety of family members. During these activities, the Case Aide works closely with the foster care family specialists and receives their support and guidance. Additionally, this key individual provides administrative support to maximize the department's efficiency in overall operations and administrative functioning. Requirements: Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field, is preferred. Candidates with a combination of education & lived experience related to child welfare or social services will be considered. A current, Clean and Valid New York State Driver's License (actively licensed at least one year) is required. Staff in driving positions must be able to meet the agency's minimum requirements of our insurance policy for authorized drivers including, but not limited to, the minimum age of 21 at time of hire; with the ability to maintain insurability throughout employment. At least 1 year of experience working with at-risk families and/or other types of community services. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules, which may include evening and/or weekend hours. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Business Suite, & Secure Internet practices. Have a professional record of integrity, proven reliability and dependability. Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability to day-to-day changes with client needs and functioning. Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, and handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include: Supports the operational functioning of the department, including transporting, caring for, and supervising children during case-related activities. As requested, transports foster care children to medical appointments, educational events, mental health counseling appointments, and visits with a variety of family members. Provides administrative support linked to the foster care department functioning. Assists with case-related family visits and service plan reviews, including caring for and monitoring the safety of the family's children. At all times, provides a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for the agency's foster care children. Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality. Our in-jail clinical services include medical, nursing, and mental health care; pharmacy services; substance-use treatment; social work; dental and vision care; discharge planning; and reentry support. Given the high visibility of this initiative, we are seeking the highest caliber health care professionals in key clinical services to staff our Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units (OTxHU). To be located in three NYC Health + Hospital acute care facilities, the OTxHU is a pioneering approach to safely increasing access to high quality clinical care for patients in custody who have complicated health conditions. OTxHUs will bridge the gap in the continuum between care provided in the jails and inpatient hospitalization, with admission to and discharge from the OTxHU in accordance with a patient's clinical needs. CHS will be the primary health care providers on these units and the NYC Department of Correction will provide security and custody management. The OTxHU at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in Manhattan will be the first of this unique, groundbreaking project to open with a planned completion date as early as the end of 2024. Position Details: Child Mind Institute is pleased to offer an 11-week, clinically oriented summer internship for up to six accomplished undergraduate juniors who will begin their senior year in August/September 2026, and undergraduate seniors who will graduate and receive their degree by the September 2026. The internship is designed for students interested in careers in child mental health, medicine, education and special education, public health, neuroscience, and other related areas. The internship provides a comprehensive experience in a thriving, innovative, and dynamic outpatient clinical practice. The 2026 Clinical Summer Internship at Child Mind Institute begins on Monday, June 1, 2026, and ends on Friday, August 14, 2026. This internship experience is a full-time, 40-hour per week experience, and selected interns are expected to be available for the duration of the internship. Reporting to the Associate Clinical Director, interns will work full-time at the Child Mind Institute in Midtown Manhattan, easily accessible by public transportation. Learning Opportunities: Intern experiences are rooted in diverse supervised clinical therapeutic experiences with children and adolescents. Interns are exposed to a variety of psychiatric disorders and empirically-supported treatments for these disorders through each of our five clinical centers-ADHD and Behavior Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Autism, Mood Disorders, and Learning and Development (i.e., Neuropsychology)-as well as through interactions with our board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists. Interns are provided with opportunities to shadow clinicians during treatment and evaluation sessions, provide direct support to clinicians during clinical treatment sessions, and receive training to becoming therapeutic counselors in our Brave Buddies program, which provides innovative intensive treatment for children with Selective Mutism. Interns also participate in numerous didactics provided by clinical faculty, which span a variety of topics and include mentorship in preparing for graduate or medical school, and a career in the mental health field. The weekly didactics will also include review of assigned seminal readings in the field You Will: Interns provide support to clinicians in preparation for and during treatment sessions; Interns prepare individualized materials to support children in treatment sessions; Interns train to become counselors for the Brave Buddies program; Interns assist clinical faculty in ongoing clinical projects and in organizing innovative public education programs provided onsite and in the community; and Interns complete a literature review under the mentorship of a faculty clinician and prepare a presentation for the Child Mind Institute community at large at the end of the internship.
