Description & Responsibilities The Nurse Manager is a growth-oriented leader who uses team process, coaching, and team strategy to drive change. This person has a responsibility to create and sustain an environment that recognizes each resident's physical, emotional and spiritual needs beyond traditional nursing home procedures and protocols. The Nurse Manager will create and sustain small home clinical excellence, will support development of team functioning, and achieve and maintain operational efficiency in the neighborhood through team created process development and improvement, solid employee relations skills, and innovative strategy to meet changing expectations in long term care. This position will be called upon to find solutions to issues concerning the resident, family and facility which impact quality of life and well-being through team processes. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. On-call rotation every 6 weeks. St. John's is seeking a Part Time or Full Time RN Supervisor for Evening Shift (3:00 pm-11:30 pm) + every other weekend. Pay: $39.00 - $44.00 per hour, dependent on post-license experience level. Very generous extra pay for evening and weekend shifts. The RN Supervisor has the responsibility of translating the objectives, policies, and procedures of St. John's Home & the Nursing Department into effective actions. Must maintain the highest standards of nursing care and practice of the assigned shifts. The Nurse Supervisor maintains the highest degree of quality care. What will make me successful on the job? Current NYS RN license. Current NYS CPR certification. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Must be available to attend and complete 3-day orientation on Mon-Tues-Wed from 9 am-4 pm. Minimum of one (1) year of RN supervisory experience required or three (3) years of RN experience. Previous experience in long term care highly desirable. Must possess leadership skills and willingness to work harmoniously with others. Proficient organizational and communication skills. Ability to interact with elders and care for their needs. Compliance with NYS Department of Health immunization requirements. Physical Requirements Stands, sits, and walks most of the day. Frequent moving and ability to lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform activities as defined in skills check list.
