The Opportunity We're looking for a sharp and driven Accounting Intern to join our team for a paid internship. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation for your accounting career. As an integral part of our accounting department, you'll contribute to key accounting functions and gain exposure to unique challenges and opportunities within the energy sector. What You Will Be Doing Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports. Help with account reconciliations and journal entries. Support the accounts payable team. Use tools like Power BI, Spotfire, and SQL to help develop dashboards for analyzing financial data. Work on special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed. Gain exposure to industry-specific accounting practices, such as revenue recognition for oil and gas sales and joint interest billing. Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial data. Your Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Have a strong interest in the oil and gas industry. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus. Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
