Job Overview:
The Tech Aide assists the department with daily operations by preparing and supporting patients for exams, managing paperwork, and transporting patients as needed. Works in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with patients and staff, and helps maintain a safe and organized workspace. Performs other duties as needed to support the efficient operation of the department.
Responsibilities:
Escort patients (walking or wheelchair) from admitting to the waiting room, assist with changing, provide paperwork, and prescreen when applicable (e.g., CT questions).
Log patients into the schedule and check for referrals; distribute paperwork to the Tech Area.
Print schedules and paperwork in advance, ensuring accuracy at least two days prior to appointments.
Make phone calls to confirm next day's appointments.
Order forms and office supplies as needed and follow up until received.
Maintain neat and organized waiting and changing rooms; pick up gowns and other items.
Assist technologists with patients as needed, including helping on and off exam tables.
Help patients who need to reschedule and escort them back to admitting for refunds if required.
Minimum Skills/Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; previous medical experience preferred.
Submit retypes forms as necessary.
Organize time effectively to manage changing workloads and assignments.
Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Use supplies and equipment efficiently and ensure proper cleaning and disinfection.
Adapt positively to changes in assignments and priorities.

**Job Description**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Supervised responsibilities may include:
- Observe basic customer biomedical equipment issues, appropriate repairs, planned maintenance (PM), safety, and environmental inspections.
- Follow appropriate GEHC policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation, as guided.
- Job shadow members of local team that provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within assigned area. Eventually may assist more experienced technicians on progressive repairs and resolution with the proper training.
- Observe communications with customers as directed, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
- Observe documentation of repair actions and submission of reports/summaries according to schedule.
- May maintain approved parts inventory. Manage vendor's service delivery processes in compliance with GEHC policies, as instructed.
- Meet Health and Human Services, as well as Environment Health and Safety requirements.
- Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within the defined deadlines. Identify and report any and all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks full time over the summer.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Special Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time. Candidate must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- You may not relocate more than 30 miles from your current location without approval from your manager.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Currently enrolled in an AS, BS degree, or certificate program.

- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
- Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
