The Associate Nutritionist is responsible for implementing optimal nutrition programs for the Versova pullet and layer flocks at the farm level. This role involves extensive in-person collaboration with our farms to ensure the health, productivity, and welfare of animals with the expectation that 80% of the time is dedicated to these functions. The Associate Nutritionist plays a crucial role in optimizing feed cost per unit of output and supporting the overall performance of the company's operations. Formulating feed rations, conducting research on nutritional needs, and direct support of the Sr. Director of Nutrition and Sr. Feed Formulator will encompass approximately 20% of the role.
Essential Job Functions
Provide technical support and training to farm managers and staff on nutrition-related topics through a combination of remote and on-site support.
Summarizes complete feed and ingredient analytical data from internal and 3rd party labs, prepares and interprets needed reports.
Manages data flow into and out of multiple software systems used by the feed, accounting, and laboratory departments.
Least-cost optimizes feed formulas using established specifications and processes. Ensures ingredient supply chain and feed mills have the needed formulas in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in livestock or poultry industry nutrition/managment
Proficiency in data analysis and related software
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn new software programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment (home based could be an option) but requires regular visits to farms, feed mills, and research facilities. Some travel (up to 50%) may be necessary. The Associate Nutritionist must be comfortable working in various agricultural settings and adapting to changing industry demands. The role involves collaboration with multiple departments and may require occasional work outside normal business hours to address urgent nutritional or operational needs.

* Assist in preparation and implementation of the General Utilities preventative maintenance schedule.

* Assist and support other Maintenance Technicians on the production floor as necessary. This may include such tasks as the routine preventative maintenance interventions.
* Assist in new hire training and cross-training efforts of other technicians.
* Work and communicate well with others and effectively contribute to the working relationships within Barilla.
* Be an active participant in all Safety and Environmental Team, training and inspection activities throughout the plant.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This position is part of a team responsible for general production activities throughout different seasons during the year. This will include but is not limited to, receiving seed, field activities such as planting and detasseling, conditioning/treating seed, warehousing/shipping, and equipment maintenance. Operating and overseeing critical machines and operations are central to this position while communicating production needs and improving processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center offers evaluation, medical care, and surgical treatment to animals with urgent medical needs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The LVMC provides specialized care and comprehensive medical and surgical services for companion and large animals throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our clinicians, residents and interns, technicians, staff, and senior veterinary students work in teams to provide 24-hour, state-of-the-art care to animal patients.
Successful candidates hired into a Veterinary Technician I/II/III position in the College of Veterinary Medicine's Small Animal Intensive Care Unit between 2/1/2025 and 6/30/2026 may be eligible to receive a recruitment incentive of $1,000. This Level I position provides care and assistance to patients under the supervision of Clinicians and House Officers at Iowa State University Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center within the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Department. Responsibilities include the ability to proficiently perform technical skills, provide nursing care to small animal ICU patients, and coordinate and assist with patient diagnostics, procedures, and other necessary treatments. Instruct and demonstrate veterinary care and technical skills to 4th-year veterinary students.
The successful candidate will be well-rounded and possess multitasking skills to triage and help stabilize incoming ER patients. The candidate will also provide advanced nursing care to small animal ICU patients with the ability to recognize changes in the health of an animal. They should demonstrate attention to detail and have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, house officers, and staff members.

Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Veterinarian, it provides advanced care for ill and injured animal patients or animals used in a clinical or hospital setting.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
* Assists with basic nursing care on American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification level I and II patients, which are considered healthy or with mild systemic disease. About the role:

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
* You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
* You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
* You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
* You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
* You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
* You will stock supplies, break down empty cartons and assist with proper disposal.
* You will take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures and monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
* You will perform finger sticks, test sample, and record other donor measures to include hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
* You will enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
* You will coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
* You will support the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement, initiating changes to center processes through use of company approved procedures including 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.
