Summary:
Performs a variety of tasks related to the manufacturing, assembly, and refurbishment of aircraft parts and structures (e.g., F-16 and F-35 canopies, C-130 sub-assemblies)
Utilizes controlled tooling and build-to-print methods, aligning parts using jigs, templates, and fixtures
Conducts part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, trimming, drilling, riveting, and cold working
Measures parts to verify dimensions and may modify assemblies for repairs
Works from blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
Monitors and verifies quality, suggesting corrective actions
Required Skills:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, mathematical ability for calculations, and proficiency in reading blueprints and technical data
1-2 years of sheet metal assembly/aircraft sheet metal structure experience required
Previous experience as an Assembler and/or Aircraft Structures Mechanic preferred
Experience with F-16, C-130, and F-35 aircraft structures highly preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or in teams and communicate effectively
