The position will be housed in a BLM field office in Glasgow, MT and receive day-to-day guidance from BLM, PFW, RSA, and Pheasants Forever. Duties: Work with private landowners, agricultural producers, and lessees to plan and implement conservation practices benefiting grassland and sagebrush ecosystems, upland birds, and big game habitats across public-private landownerships. Lead planning, implementation, partner coordination (e.g., state, and federal agencies, businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGO), and private landowners), fieldwork, and reporting for cooperative sage grouse habitat and big game migration corridor projects. Work with USFWS PFW to identify, plan, and implement sagebrush conservation projects through private landowner agreements and identify new funding opportunities. Be an active member of the Ranchers Stewardship Alliance Conservation Committee and contribute to ongoing activities and projects to advance ranching, conservation, and community efforts in the area. Provide outreach to coordinate with, and build relationships with area ranchers, private landowners, local business-economic interests, non-governmental organizations, and local community groups (e.g., soil and water conservation districts, local area working groups, coordinated resource management groups, etc.). Alarm/Emergency Procedures training within 30 days of hire and biannually thereafter. CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire and biannually thereafter. New Employee Orientation and Listen 1st or other alternative training within 30 days of hire. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Day Camp Coordinator is expected to fulfill the following functions: Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment throughout all program areas including closets and other storage units. Assist in scheduling, developing and evaluating camp staff. Participate in developing and implementing innovative camp curriculum and activities. Facilitate Day Camp program drop off and pick up and maintenance records. Participate in all camp meetings. Understand ratios and all youth staff, know the number of youth in the program at all times. Facilitate transportation safety. Along with assisting the Day Camp Director with tasks as they relate to programming, staff training, collaborative staff efforts, facilities, equipment and cross-training. In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities, the Day Camp Coordinator will: Pursue/participate in ongoing camp training Assist in fund-raising activities, special events and participate in the annual campaign. Help supervise, mentor and coordinate day camp program staff. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday. Ability to perform all physical demands of the position including leading activities, walking, standing, running, bending, reaching and lifting. RISK MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: We are responsible for taking notice of any and all safety risks across the facility and shall communicate all safety concerns immediately. We recognize Child Abuse Prevention is a team effort and we are required to take all measures to prevent and report any potential abuse. We are knowledgeable of emergency procedures and are prepared to respond. STAFF ENGAGEMENT AND CONDUCT: We must be prepared to work at scheduled time (on the floor, not just in the building), be mentally present, wear proper work attire and have necessary supplies for shift. We are actively aware of members, compliant with cell phone policy, focused on key elements of your position, attentive, energetic and upbeat about our work. We communicate gentle reminders of safety of equipment use, language and other rules that fall within the Y Mission. We will honor confidentiality in all programs and areas. We will not have our friends present during our shifts. We give all members the attention they deserve. We will respond to all messages, comments, etc. within a 24 hour period.
