JOB OVERVIEW
The Security Team Member is responsible for providing security services ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents, guests and team members. A summary of responsibilities includes but not limited to promoting and guarding the community property and assets against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry by unauthorized persons while meeting and or exceeding Sunrise service standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Duties

General Security and Patrols
* Conducts safety and security inspections of all community property to include common areas, resident corridors, parking areas and perimeter access.
* Patrols community buildings and grounds as scheduled, may be required to register at watch stations to record time of inspection.
* Examines doors, windows and gates to ensure that they are secure.
* Patrols community property to prevent and discover activity in violation of criminal, fire or safety codes.
* Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unsecured.
* Investigates and reports all acts of unlawful or safety hazards that would endanger persons or property.
* Investigates all incidents and suspicious occurrences filing incident report appropriately.
* Responds to all security calls and complaints, taking necessary action and handling on-scene emergency situations until relieved by a Supervisor.
* Inspects and reports all dangerous conditions and any damaged or defective equipment, machinery and property.
* Secures and unlocks areas and buildings in accordance with policy and community expectation.
* Raises, lowers and folds the flag appropriately.
Emergency Response
* Notifies appropriate agencies in situations where their emergency response and support is necessary.
* Sounds alarm and/or calls police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
* Assists in emergency response procedures as per community policy.
* Ensures outside furniture or fixtures are secure in the event of inclement weather.
Safety and Risk Management
* Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; monitors adherence to safety rules and regulations.
* Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Lockout Tagout procedures.
* Escorts residents and team members to their cars after hours and as requested.
Resident Services
* Reviews, reads, notates and initializes the Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent information.
* Assists residents with packages such as but not limited to groceries, mail and newspapers.
* Delivers items to residents in accordance with community policy.
* Practices positive resident and guest relations; ensures that appropriate resident and guest feedback is communicated to supervisor.
General Administration
* Reviews, reads, notates and initializes the Security Log to document and learn about pertinent information regarding security activities recording data such as property damage, unusual occurrences and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
* Reviews previous log entries, notes and memorandums.
* Participates actively in Cross Over meeting to remain informed; brief in-coming security staff and to hear updates of security and community issues.
* Conducts inventory and inspects security equipment such as radios, telephones, beepers, batteries, vehicles and keys.
* Completes appropriate forms and reports for accidents and incidents occurring during the shift.
Transportation
* Schedules and provides transportation for residents in accordance with policy.
* Drives the community vehicle as necessary.
Training, and Contributing to Team Success
* Participates actively as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals.
* Demonstrates in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo.
* Commit to serving our residents and guests through our Principles of Service.

The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for designing Life Skills to reflect each resident's past interests and for providing them with encouragement, prompts, and hands on assistance. Life Skills Program
Evaluate resident's interest and involvement in Life Skills.
Develop Life Skills tailored to each resident's unique needs and abilities.
Engage residents in Life Skills throughout the day and evening.
Ensure that every resident has an opportunity to engage in Life Skills or other life enrichment activities daily.
Review resident profile and the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and spend time talking with residents and family members to determine the best Life Skill or life enriching activity for each resident.
Ensure the Life Skill is included on the demographic profile of each resident and apply the information by being responsible for implementing, leading, and motivating others in the appropriate Life Skill for the residents in partnership with the Reminiscence Coordinator (RC).
Organize small groups or clubs that address those similar needs and preferences in a small group/club setting using the resident's demographic profile information.
Ensure that the Life Skill is included on the socialization and leisure activities section of the ISP.
Act as a role model and encourage other team members to engage in Life Skills with residents.
Assist residents to and from the Life Skills stations and other normalizing life enriching activities and routines.
Record and document resident participation according to Sunrise quality service standards.
Maintain and expand Life Skills stations and other life enriching programs and replenish supplies as needed.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of Life Skills programming supplies.
Assist residents with daily care of any animals and/or plants as part of the Life Skills program and services.
Resident Focus
Review, read, notate, and initial the Daily Log and Department Log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident's physical and behavioral/communication pattern changes as well as Life Skills information.
Review the ISP, Resident Profile, Demographic Profile, and Addendums for every new resident.
Give input on the Demographic Profile and ISP to ensure that each resident has a personalized Life Skill listed that reflects their past interests and reflects their current abilities.
Practice positive resident relations following our Sunrise Shared Values, respond to resident and family member requests, and direct resident and family member feedback to immediate supervisor.
Assist Reminiscence Coordinator (RC) to ensure each resident's Memory Box is completed within two (2) weeks of move-in.
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information.
Volunteer and Community Focus
Assists with and support local businesses, organizations, and schools in the development and retention of the community volunteer programs under the leadership of the (RC) and Activities & Volunteer Coordinator (AVC).
Assist with the volunteer orientations, volunteer training programs, and appropriate volunteer paperwork according to Sunrise standards.
Dining Service
Serve meals in the dining room.
Assist residents in Life Skills in the dining room during set up and clean up.
Risk Management and General Safety
Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.

**JOB OVERVIEW**
The Dining Services Director I is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, overall leadership, and management of the dining and hospitality operations in the community. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, food preparation and service in accordance with the Sunrise culinary programs, accurate delivery of dietary modifications, procurement, financial and budgetary management, labor management, hiring, supervising and training team members, ensuring proper sanitation and safe food handling, accurate record keeping, inventory and rotation of products, regulatory compliance, and communicating with residents and families to ensure high levels of resident satisfaction. This position is generally only in communities that also have a Dining Services Coordinator (DSC) and/or an Executive Chef. In such instances, the Dining Services Director provides overall leadership of the department with the Dining Services Coordinator and/or Executive Chef reporting to the Dining Services Director.
**RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS**
**Essential Duties**

**Preparation and Food Service**
+ Delivers consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following Sunrise recipes, menus, and programs.
+ Posts and displays weekly and daily menus in accordance with Sunrise standards.
+ Completes and utilizes production sheets to control food quality and portions.
+ Ensures adherence to modified diets, correct portioning of foods, and proper serving methods.
+ Prepares and serves meals on time and at the correct temperatures.
+ Actively trains on and participates in front-of-the-house operations to ensure a positive customer experience.
+ Ensures all food in Bistro and or other common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated (as applicable).
+ Actively supports all special events with exceptional emphasis on marketing events.

**Resident Focus**
+ Partners with the Wellness team and consultant dietitian to understand individual resident nutritional needs and preferences, then delivers snacks, beverages, and meals accurately and consistently.
+ Actively participates in monthly Resident Council Meetings and other identified food committee meetings.
+ Visits with residents during meal periods each day for feedback on menu.
+ Ensures coordination of staffing in dining room with ALC before each meal.
**Supplies Management and Risk Management**
+ Adheres to established product order guide(s) and vendor programs.
+ Ensures compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and local health department regulations.
+ Maintains an adequate inventory of food and supplies including emergency supplies.
+ Partners with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and to promote Risk Management programs and policies.
+ Ensures that procedures and practices are enforced as needed: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Lockout Tagout procedures.
**Food Safety, Sanitation and Maintenance**
+ Ensures compliance with local health department regulations and Sunrise standards.
+ Practices safe food handling at all times to prevent contamination and/or an outbreak of food borne illness.
+ Maintains a clean, organized, and clutter-free kitchen environment.
+ Completes and maintains accurate food production records including safe cooking and holding temperatures and a record of the menu as served.
+ Completes and maintains accurate sanitation and cleaning records, including refrigeration and freezer logs, cleaning logs, and dining room/bistro opening and closing checklists.
+ Partners with the Maintenance Coordinator for repairs and scheduled maintenance of equipment.
**Financial Management**
+ Understand and manage the department budget, including food, labor/labour, and other expenses.
+ Keep financial tools up-to-date and ensure budgeted allowances are maintained.
+ Review monthly financial statements and implement plans of action around deficiencies.
+ Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data timely.
+ Coordinate with the community team to achieve maximum staff economies and cross training.
+ Conduct regular inventories as defined by accounting guidelines.
**Training, Leadership, and Team Member Development**
+ Provides overall management of the department, including but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching.
+ Leads and participates in daily and monthly team member meetings and trainings, including orientation, onboarding, continuing education, annual trainings, and in services.
+ Develop a working knowledge of state/provincial regulations and ensure compliance.
+ Complete team member staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines.
+ Conduct a daily review of timekeeping practices and payroll reports to ensure all hours worked are recorded and appropriately paid.
+ Conduct timely performance appraisals with meaningful conversations.
+ Hold team accountable and correct actions, when necessary, with proper documentation.
+ Attend regular meetings as required (e.g., Stand Up, Department Head, Interdisciplinary Team, Town Hall, Quality Improvement).
+ Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.

+ Minimum 5 (five) years volume cooking experience and ability to cook 2 (two) to 3 (three) times per week at the volume required. In communities with an Executive Chef, volume cooking experience for the Dining Services Director may be replaced by equivalent hospitality experience.
+ Current ServSafe certification
+ Proven ability to use appropriate tools such as production sheets, standardized recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
+ Must possess basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
+ Proven ability to manage food and labor/labour budgets, and achieve established targets
+ Proficient in basic computer skills and programs with the ability to learn new applications
