West Virginia and Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) licenses are preferred but not required immediately.
8+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site development, utility coordination and permitting.
Proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong technical proficiency in civil engineering design software and tools, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and scheduling.
Drive business development activities such as client meetings, proposals, RFQ submissions, and strategic planning with the division leader and marketing staff

Bridge Inspector Team Leader / Designer - Pottsville/Allentown/King-of-Prussia, PA
The Impact You Will Have:
Benesch is searching for an additional Bridge Inspection Team Leader/Designer to help make a difference in one of our Pottsville, Allentown, or King-of-Prussia, Pennsylvania offices. Bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation are core strengths of Benesch. We have an established presence with work throughout Eastern Pennsylvania for a variety of clients including multiple PennDOT Districts and local municipalities. This is an opportunity to join a talented group of individuals to help grow our emerging bridge inspection practice in Pennsylvania.
The successful candidate for this position will be primarily responsible for bridge inspection services and engineering support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for bridge inspection, report generation, and load rating analysis.
The successful candidate will be required to work with a team on multiple bridge inspection projects.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to coordinate, plan, market and manage bridge inspection projects.
What You Will Need:
Minimum 5 years related experience
NBIS Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) in PA, with up-to-date refresher training
PA qualified as a CBSI Team Leader
BSCE or related discipline preferred but not required.
EIT and plan to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in Pennsylvania preferred but not required.
Fracture Critical Inspection / Scour Evaluation training a plus
SPRAT certification a plus
Experience preparing reports for inspections, including iForms, BMS2, National Bridge Elements (NBE), etc.
Familiarity with PennDOT Publications (PUB 100A, PUB 238, etc.)
Bridge inspection assignments vary greatly, but physical requirements like climbing embankments and manipulating ladders should be expected.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Candidate should not be averse to working at heights or adjacent busy roadways.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Valid U.S. driver's license
Positive experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders.
Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects.
Strong work ethic
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Performing bridge safety inspections in accordance with NBIS and PennDOT Pub 238, and supervising team members in the completion of inspections and reports.
Preparing neat and organized reports.
Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned.
Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager/Senior Engineer.

Strategic Oversight: Oversee delivery of services to ensure satisfaction, quality, and alignment with client expectations. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure tasks are completed effectively and client commitments are met.
Client Advocacy & Engagement: Act as an advocate for client needs while balancing company objectives. Proactively address and resolve issues, ensuring both client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and industry engagement. Leverage existing relationships in Oil & Gas, Industrial Manufacturing, and Chemical Manufacturing sectors to drive regional growth.
KPI Management: Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as client retention rate, booked new business, net revenue growth, cross-selling activity, and direct labor multiplier to ensure alignment with company goals.
Strategic Planning: Play a key role in client selection, engagement decisions, and management assignments. Collaborate with leadership to align account strategies with broader business objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal technical, operational, and sales teams to deliver tailored, high-value solutions that meet regulatory standards (RCRA, OSHA, environmental compliance).
Market & Industry Insight: Stay current with industry trends and compliance requirements to provide clients with informed, strategic recommendations.
Skills & Experience:
15-20 years of private-sector experience in client management, business development, or sales, preferably within industrial or environmental sectors.
Proven success in maintaining and expanding long-term client relationships.
Strong negotiation, communication, and diplomacy skills to balance client advocacy with organizational goals.
Demonstrated ability to monitor and achieve key performance metrics.
Existing, verifiable relationships within industrial markets highly preferred.
Proficient in CRM tools, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
Willingness to travel regionally (including overnight) to meet with clients and attend industry events.

T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $160,000 and $192,000.
