This role is ideal for candidates who have demonstrated consistent career progression, deep technical curiosity, and a passion for building and supporting modern IT environments. As a Systems Engineer at VTG, you will manage infrastructure solutions across a wide range of client environments. You'll work with Windows Server, virtualization platforms, networking technologies, and cloud-integrated systems while helping clients modernize and secure their IT operations. Candidates who maintain home lab environments, experiment with new technologies, and continuously push their technical boundaries will excel in this position. Minimum Qualifications 3-5+ years of hands-on IT experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or MSP support roles. Demonstrated career progression or long-term growth within a single organization Experience deploying, configuring, and managing Windows Server environments. Experience with Group Policy (GPO) creation, management, and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies. Familiarity with Linux administration. Ability to document environments, follow change management processes, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in fast-paced MSP environments. Hypervisor deployment and management. Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications such as: CCNA CompTIA Network+ LPIC Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ‑800) MCSE (legacy but valued) Experience with VoIP systems (SIP, hosted PBX, QoS Troubleshooting) Exposure to automation or scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) Hands-on experience with cloud or hybrid environments (Azure AD, M365, identity management) Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Datto, etc.) Demonstrated use of home lab environments for learning, testing, or deploying: Windows Server Virtualization stacks Networking labs Automation workflows MSP experience supporting multiple clients and diverse environments Strong customer service mindset and the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language EEO Statement: VTG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
