In this role, the successful candidate With some supervision, this position is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing calls as they are received. Operates telephones, public address and paging systems, and maintains records and daily logbooks. Job Responsibilities: Answer and process incoming/outgoing calls as they are received. Transfers call to the correct person / department. Provides approved patient information. Complies with policies when paging overhead. Places calls for in-house and long-range pagers. Notify departmental on-call staff as requested. Ensures that Administrative/Department Head staff is notified immediately. Activates the Emergency Notification System. Maintains operators computer console Utilizes departments on-call schedules using computer console. Maintain physicians house status. Participates in all departmental staff meetings. Makes recommendations regarding departmental policies and procedures. Assists with orientation and training of new hires. Encourages teamwork and a collaborative work environment.
