    Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their Campus Security (P/T) position, in the Public Safety Division. This position is located at ATC's Main Campus, which is just South of Downtown Atlanta. Under general supervision, Campus Security (P/T) patrols assigned areas and ensures safety of campus buildings and grounds for a technical college. Manages traffic flow and enforces parking regulations. Security Officer must at all times contact Campus Police, of any of the following Incidents: Traffic Accidents, Vandalism, Thefts and any other Criminal Acts committed on the Atlanta Technical College. Campus Security Officers will perform administrative duties, patrol an assigned area and check Campus buildings for unauthorized personnel during opening and after closing hours. Campus Security Officers must be able to work independently and make common sense decisions and follow policy. This position is a highly-visible, Public Relations Position and requires the applicant to be courteous, polite, and informative to the Faculty, Students and Citizens that visit the Atlanta Technical College. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Campus Security Officers must possess the following: ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical materials, and/or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and instructional materials; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, managers, and the general public; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of both concrete and abstract ideas. Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License; maintain automobile insurance coverage; and have consistent access to an automobile. Campus Security Officers must meet the following Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate instructional equipment and computers. The employee may lift and/or move objects up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance, close, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Provides support in training, selecting, and orienting subordinate correctional security staff. * Reads and reviews youth information to identify issues that require special attention. Oversees officer activities and performance to ensure that the custody, security, and welfare of youth is maintained. * Position may serve as the Shift Supervisor in the absence of the Lieutenant. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma /GED AND 6 months of experience AND 6 months of experience at the lower-level Juvenile Correctional Officer 2 (PSP221) equivalent. * Must successfully complete leadership Core Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced with in first six months of employment. * Must possess and maintain State of Georgia P.O.S.T Certification within the first six months of employment.
