A Puget Sound Business Journal Innovator of the Year, Swatee is currently leading Litesprite, a firm that combines games, machine learning, and big data to improve health outcomes for a variety of chronic health conditions. Litesprite is the first video game to win a U.S. Surgeon General Award and the only one recommended by clinics today. The firm has also received financial awards by the U.S. Army, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, SXSW, Livestrong Foundation, and Singularity University. Throughout her career, her results have been identified as best practices and she has been identified as a creative results-driven leader. As a Lead Consultant with Premera's Executive team, Swatee built the firm's innovation capabilities as she also enabled and improved strategy execution. At T-Mobile, launched Bobsled, a group messaging application and researched mobile health partners. As a Microsoft Sr. Research Program Manager, she interfaced routinely with world healthcare experts and computer scientists to establish projects that apply advanced computing technologies to further research into disease. Her efforts were recognized by Corporate VPs and General Managers as establishing best practices for developing “greenfield” business plans and communicating complex ideas to senior management. Prior to Microsoft, she held general management positions at Nike and Public Radio International,and Eastman Kodak. Her task was to create high-impact change by developing and launching technology-based businesses. I started at Texas Instruments where I was responsible for forecasting material for TI's international minicomputer business. I oversaw international order entry, my first taste of management. My world changed when TI introduced the TIPC to compete with the IBM personal computer. I purchased a TIPC and met Ted Waitt the CEO of TIPC Network. We began working on a series of projects including the sale of used TIPCs back to Texas Instruments. I left TI to pursue an MBA at the University of Texas. After one semester, out of money, I returned to TI doing marketing and support for the Latin American Division. I continued with my MBA full time while working full time at Texas Instruments. That was one of the most rewarding and challenging times of my life. After receiving an MBA with a 3.8 GPA, I was promoted to Latin American Sales, Marketing and Support manager. I traveled throughout Latin America and learned to speak Spanish. After 5 years, Ted Waitt had created a burgeoning computer company, and I became Gateway 2000's first Director of Marketing. Gateway was booming and I held a succession of increasingly challenging positions including VP of Marketing, VP of Desktop Products, General Manager Gateway Europe, and SVP of Gateway Consumer, responsible for sales, marketing and support worldwide. I started PC Matic while visiting the ex-president of Gateway, Rick Snyder. I invested $1M to get her off the ground and became the company's first and only CEO. PC Matic is a virtual company which allowed me to purchase a second residence in Rio de Janeiro where I learned Portuguese. I am proud to say that the company has grown into a successful and profitable company developing and marketing high-quality security software into the United States, UK and Japan. I can say for sure that PC Matic will be the last job I will ever want.
