PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

5. *Learns to perform data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing to ensure quality signals.
6. *Develops skill, recognizes, and adheres to American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) scoring parameters: sleep/wake, respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, and arousals.
7. *Learns to document routine observations, clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of sleep study results.
8. Develops skills in contacting providers regarding changes in the patient's condition and treatment needs.
9. *Develops skills in generating accurate sleep study reports.
10. *Maintains, operates and corrects equipment problems in a manner that ensures accurate results.
11. *Provides disease/process-specific patient/family education.
12. Disinfects and sterilizes equipment properly, complying with universal infection control procedures.
13. Handles hazardous waste materials such as acetone and collodion appropriately.
14. *Cleans, stocks and cares for supplies and equipment in assigned work area.
15. *Follows self-administration procedure for patient medication.
16. Maintains competencies through education, practice, and other means as assigned and as appropriate for age of patient.
17. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
18. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
19. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

Must obtain RPSGT credential within 30 days of the completion of an approved pathway to the credentialing exam.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes the American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), the American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals), and the Military Training Network.

Keeps field clean and free of used sponges, suture ends, and instrumentation.
Participates in surgical sponge, needle, sharps and instrument counts as applicable.
Demonstrates the correct use of surgical equipment and supplies.
May hold retractors under the direction of the surgeon, but at no time will function independently as the only scrub technologist.
May also act as a sterile processing technician.
Qualifications
Current student of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Your role on our team:

1. Under immediate supervision, performs a range of job functions in the Interior department.
Finish:

We are looking for exceptional people to provide extraordinary care as a Surgical Technologist Assistant.
This position requires you to be a current student of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Hours: Part time - flexible and able to work with school schedule.
The Surgical Technologist Assistant is involved with assisting in the instrumentation and technical aspect of the operative event.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Assists in pulling required instrumentation, supplies, and equipment.
Assists in the preparation of rooms with disinfectant, room turnover, and restocking.
May participate in opening sterile supplies under the direction and supervision of the circulator and or scrub tech staff.
Prepares work areas by draping, preparing, and testing equipment and organizing instrumentation.
Scrubs, gowns, and gloves according to the procedure. Assists in gowning and gloving surgeons.
Anticipates the need for instruments, ligatures, sponges, and irrigation, utilizing physician preference cards.
Observes for breaks in sterile technique and calls attention to such, and moves easily within the limits of the sterile field.
Keeps field clean and free of used sponges, suture ends, and instrumentation.
Participates in surgical sponge, needle, sharps, and instrument counts as applicable.
Demonstrates the correct use of surgical equipment and supplies.
May hold retractors under the direction of the surgeon, but at no time will function independently as the only scrub technologist.
May also act as a sterile processing technician.
Qualifications
Current student of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Current BLS certification required at time of hire.
