The right candidate will be responsible for the daily performance, service levels and eCommerce administration provided by the Technical Publications team. The position plans, directs and controls the technical document communication in print and electronic media for various products and processes. Taking ownership of issues, following problems through to resolution and promoting excellent service levels to both internal and external customers is critical.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Manages the Technical Publications team in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Environmental Solutions Group (ESG). Sets department objectives, assigns projects and evaluates group(s) work for content and conformity to customer and ESG requirements.
Plans prioritizes, assigns, and monitors publication projects and deadlines.
Evaluates and reports on the performance, effectiveness, and impact of technical publications.
Researches and stays updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in technical communication and publications.
Develops and implements strategies that demonstrate forward thinking and innovation for how publications are authored and distributed.
Proficient in various documentation publication tools, software, and platforms to identify the best solution(s) for productivity, cross functional team collaboration and efficiency.
Implements on-going continuous improvement of the various department procedures, controls, flows and systems, and becomes familiar with ESG internal policies and procedures.
Manages the creation and editing of product safety and informational decal drawings and print vendor artwork.
Reviews technical documentation against industry standards to make sure compliance is met or exceeded.
Manages the photographing and documentation of products and product functions with emphasis on the safety, accuracy, and clarity of all published procedures.
Validates written procedures with the assistance of Risk Management, Engineering, Product Management, Product, Launch Teams, Quality, and Technical Services team members.
Accurately and proficiently proofs manuals, decals, service bulletins and other documentation prior to publication.
Networks with various internal ESG teams to identify document support opportunities. Provides employee hour estimates, Project Management, and accountability for projects undertaken by the Technical Publications Department.
Communicates and works effectively with team members and other individuals and groups within and outside of the organization.
Responsible for coordinating the loading and updating of content (product images, photos, pricing, descriptions, features, advertisements, etc.) for eCommerce sites.
Communicates and works effectively with print vendors to ensure manuals and decals are printed and delivered accurately and within production schedules.
Willing to travel up to 25% and maintain a flexible work schedule during critical project periods to achieve results.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Manufacturing or related field required, or equivalent experience is required.
5-10 plus years related management experience in Technical Publications. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
Able to work as a team leader, highly organized, work well under stress, and handle multiple tasks.
Great interpersonal skills are required.
Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with design software such as IsoDraw, AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator is required. Experience with Creo Parametric is a plus.
Experience with product data management/business management software such as Windchill PDMLink and JD Edwards is a plus.
Experience with authoring and content management software, website design, HTML and CSS is a plus.

Experience with generating revenue from documentation products is preferred.
