Mark Samuels
TendoNova

Mr. Samuels is a serial entrepreneur and seasoned senior executive with an extensive background in product development, sales/marketing, operations and capitalization for both public and private companies. In 2018, Mr. Samuels completed the sale of OBMedical Company to Philips Medical achieving a significant financial exit for OBMedical investors. OBMedical Company was a Florida based fetal monitoring startup company that had a failed product launch attempt in 2015 after expending about $5 million in capital. Mr. Samuels assumed the role of turnaround CEO in 2016 after the original management team was replaced by the OBMedical board. Mr. Samuels worked to recapitalize the company, correct the product problems and grew product sales in 2017 and 2018 before the sale to Philips. Previously, as CEO and founder of SpectRx, Inc., a medical diagnostics company, he completed an IPO, drove the valuation to almost $200 million as a NASDAQ company and established key strategic development partnerships with Abbott Laboratories, Roche Diagnostics, Respironics, Welch Allyn and others. Mr. Samuels also led research, development and commercialization efforts covering four medical device products, including three now on the market and a non-invasive replacement for cervical cancer screening currently on the market outside the United States. Mr. Samuels is qualified to act as a CEO or COO of technology driven companies from startup through rapid growth phases.
