What to Expect As an Associate Materials Manager for Production Control, you will be playing a critical role in ensuring the materials team is able to support the production goals of the Semi Factory. What You'll Do
* Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
* Lead and manage people, projects and resources to optimize production for on-time delivery. Coordinate material input to ensure on time delivery and output schedules, lead in the attainment of increased production efficiency and cycle time reduction and manage the flow of material through the supply base to support on-time delivery performance
* Ensure timely and accurate material movements through all inventory areas (receiving, stockroom, floor, and shipping) at the lowest total possible cost while maintaining high inventory accuracy
* Provide business analysis and process/system development to optimize transactions and provide required information to the operation in a timely manner to optimize materials management performance, and drive the development and implementation of internal systems and software
* Support all planning and production scheduling; inventory control; warehouse operations; logistics integration; production planners and material planners (buyers) for Tesla's manufacturing plant to ensure minimization of excess/obsolete inventory and increase annual turns and establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels for all products
* Support interaction with internal customers and suppliers to obtain feedback, and ensure collaboration between Tesla, other operations, suppliers, and customers result in the development and deployment of supply chain solutions that improve quality, performance and service levels. Provide feedback on suppliers' performance on overall cost, delivery, and quality
* Monitor and drive down overall cost of materials including freight expenses, administration expenses, and cost of materials management

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced production supervisor to oversee daily operations across one of the following manufacturing departments--machining, spinning, forging, and support functions. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating teams of operators, setup technicians, and other production staff to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem-solver, and motivator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day shop floor activity, ensuring production schedules are met and resources are used efficiently
Provide direct leadership and guidance to operators, setup operators, technicians, machinist, and other production staff
Monitor performance and hold team members accountable to safety, quality, and productivity standards
Ensure jobs are properly set up and run in alignment with work instructions, travelers, and engineering specifications
Coordinate with planning, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve production or equipment issues
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as first-pass yield, machine uptime, and labor efficiency
Support and enforce safety policies and procedures; conduct safety audits and participate in incident investigations as needed
Train, coach, and cross-train employees to build workforce flexibility and strengthen team capabilities
Monitor material flow and ensure parts are staged and moved correctly between work centers
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams under pressure
Comfortable interpreting blueprints, travelers, and work instructions
Familiarity with ERP systems and basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, digital production boards)
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, planning, quality, and upper management
Strong time management and organizational skills; able to prioritize and delegate in a dynamic environment
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles
Machine Shop or Machining Experience is a plus

Position Description:

Lead the application of SPS tools and appropriate project planning tools to improve processes, eliminate waste, and reduce cycle time. Facilitate the identification, selection, prioritization and assignment of projects with an emphasis on those that have breakthrough potential.
Be fully conversant with the operation and performance parameters of the Value Stream Unit production equipment and its effective use as a production tool from the concurrent perspective of safety, production, and quality.
Meet customer requirements for quality and delivery.
Respond quickly and effectively to direct customer requests as well as Shiloh sales and marketing requirements for information, quotation, documentation an prototype parts.

Experience:

Computer Skills:
Minimum - Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred - Previous experience with QAD, BAE.

Responsibilities
Assigning repair work to technicians and supervising the workflow to complete vehicle repairs within specific target dates
Provide daily supervision and direction to all production staff members
Dispatch all work assignments to production personnel according to ability
Responsible for ensuring that all repairs are completed correctly/accurately the first time in adherence with industry and Classic Collision standards
Schedule all sublet work in a timely manner
Meet with each technician daily to discuss work assignments and schedules creating a plan of accountability and time driven completions for each stage of production.
Hold daily team meetings
Maintain information within CCC1 to reflect vehicle status. Ensure information is always current & accurate
Monitor work quality and provide day-to-day feedback and coaching to technician staff creating a team environment for both body & paint.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience in auto repair industry or managing a team
Advance understanding and knowledge of the repair process/procedures
Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under company insurance policy
Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required.
Organization and multi-tasking skills, good time management, and the ability to adapt easily to fast-paced environment
