You will work with the highest caliber engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla's AutomationControlsTechnicians are the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.
What You'll Do
* Maintain standardized work procedures for PLC troubleshooting, testing and automated equipment controls with several Manufacturing Engineering peers
* Assist in all areas of automated equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the cell team meets the equipment yield and availability targets
* Troubleshoot and maintain all controls components such as PLC, safety devices, HMI, servo drives, process hardware and robots
* Thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment and able to manage multiple priorities
* Operate equipment using internal or 3rd party software to decipher logs and troubleshoot equipment
What You'll Bring
* Minimum of 2 years of ControlsTechnician experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
* Skilled at troubleshooting electromechanical systems, building and wiring industrial electrical cabinets
* Skilled in Siemens PLC Language, Fanuc Robots, SCADA & HMI systems, such as Ignition, WinCC, or SIMATIC
* Basic user level knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, PLM, ERP
* Command of the English language, written and verbal
* Skilled in programming Beckhoff PLC's or similar program languages to C, C++, C#, Python, or VB is preferred

What You'll Do
* Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and systems at the Tesla Gigafactory facility utilizing technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Working as a team with the entire Facilities Operations/Maintenance department, performing general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, trouble calls, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned. Calibrating and repairing instruments and associated equipment
* Working with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes
* Supporting controls group in troubleshooting upgrading and new installation of systems
* Measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes testing instrumentation and control systems and maintaining test equipment
* Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
* Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts. Installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment
* Work on projects throughout the entire facility, connecting devices and using lifts and ladders. Continues to perform equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction. Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems
What You'll Bring
* Technical Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation or equivalent experience
* Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment
* Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings

Handle industrial electrical issues including changing light bulbs and working with 208, 277, 480-volt, 3 phase and 120-volt, single phase equipment.
Install, repair, and troubleshoot industrial piping systems along with the ability to change out pumps and motors.
Troubleshoot to determine malfunctions on equipment using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, and circuit analysis.
Troubleshoot AC & DC Systems up to 480 volts.
Record maintenance and repairs activities in a computer-based maintenance management system, fill out utility check sheets and other required check sheets.
Run Wastewater treatment system.
Check operating status of air compressors.
Execute plumbing repairs such as clearing clogged fixtures, drains, and adjusting leaks.

Repair manual and automatic doors, hinges, locks, and closers on personal doors.
Make repairs to dock equipment and the well system.

Ensure that restrooms are in good working order.
Identify and repair building issues.
Assist in making safety related kaizens and repairs.
Plan and implement Kaizens.
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
2 or more years of experience in industrial maintenance.
Knowledge of electrical equipment - 480/230v 3ph, 110&24 vdc controls, prints and schematics.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Knowledge of Plant Fire Sprinkler Systems.
Ability to reset faults in the following systems and equipment: ATF Supply System, Crane Systems, Fluid Coolers, Air Compressors.

Long Description The Assembly ControlsTechnician will provide support, leadership and direction to the Maintenance Technicians and perform Controls function for the Assembly Department. The Assembly ControlsTechnician will support and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given them by the Controls & Robotics Engineering Manager or his/her designees, and you shall devote your full time, skill and attention to the business of the Company.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with minimal supervision and work well in a team.
* Support Manufacturing Engineering in the development of standards and specifications, including a complete purchase parts list related to controls systems.
* Plan and implement improvements within the Assembly Department related to the specific controls systems.
* Provide technical support to Assembly and Laser departments for resolving controls related issues.
* Support the Assembly and Laser Technical Training and Development program by conducting training classes, providing technical documentation, etc.
* Identify training needs for Maintenance Technicians. Provide requirements to Maintenance supervisors and training department.
* Provide leadership and direction during equipment downtime situations. Controls Team leaders must be able to make good judgment decisions on technical matters and interface effectively with production supervision.
* Make necessary adjustments to parts and machinery to ensure proper production run.
* Robotics troubleshooting on robots.
* Electrical circuit troubleshooting.
* Pneumatic troubleshooting.
* Hydraulic troubleshooting.
* Supervise the assembly and installation as well as assemble and install new equipment and can make modifications to existing equipment as requested.
* Responsible for training new Maintenance Technicians in equipment and safety as assigned.
* Set up preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment for the Assembly Department as laid out by the manufacturer's specifications.
* Maintain maintenance Quality standards and preventative/ predictive maintenance program for the Assembly Department to ensure compliance with QS9000 Requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Education
* BS: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required.
* AS: Electronics Technology plus 5 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required.
* 7+ years experience and training in a similar role and environment.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
* High skill set with PC and communication skills.
* Strong proficiency with PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley), Pilz Safety PLC's, A-B Servo Drive systems.
* Robotic Systems a plus (Fanuc or ABB).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in robotic-PLC debugging/programming position.

Fisher Dynamics is currently seeking a Sr. Electrical Technician for our Saint Clair Shores, MI campus. This position is responsible for electronic control equipment and apparatus as associated with automated machine tools, servo-mechanism, etc., of complex and involved design requiring broad technical knowledge of electro-mechanical principles and equipment design plus specialized skills and techniques.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Diagnose & Troubleshoot machinery and equipment, make needed repairs
Work closely with engineers and mechanics on the installation of new equipment
Assist in change-over of plant layout that may requiring the movement of machines and control equipment
Wire machinery, enclosures and control panels
Diagnose machine issues using various software programs to automate the machines
Read electrical schematics and other documents to diagnose and repair machinery and equipment
Communicate with co-workers and others to carry out job duties
Various other duties as required by the department

The Launch Engineer is responsible for providing Controls and Robotics support during design, installation and launch phase of new program manufacturing equipment. Duties include writing specifications and interacting with contractors and project teams. The Launch Engineer is responsible for the validation of all equipment to the FCA NAFTA Controls and Robotics standards as well as state and federal codes. They are also responsible for tracking equipment build and resolving Controls and Robotics issues from the equipment design phase through the installation. In addition to their core responsibilities, the Launch Engineer must also manage their documentation, software and final deliverables including hand-off to FCA Vehicle Assembly Plants and implement IT applications and part traceability requirements as outlined by Vehicle Process Engineering (ME).
