Prior technician/mechanic experience High school diploma or equivalent Familiarity with heavy truck / trailer / reefer repair and maintenance Must be able to travel as needed; overseeing multiple shop locations as assigned Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures Proven leadership and interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) Strong computer skills- knowledge of Word, Excel, Fleet Management systems and exposure to large ERP/timekeeping system Working Conditions: Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job. Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise. Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants. Ability to move and position heavy objects Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. They will also work with vendors to complete projects as needed. Responsibilities: Manage all outside services used to maintain functionality of dealership, including but not limited, to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, roofing, landscaping, and fire protection services. Manage the repair and maintenance of shop equipment including but not limited to lifts, compressors, parts washer, car wash system and oil distribution systems. Cut metal using shears, saw, plasma cutter and or other equipment. Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, hydraulic issues, and repair structural damage to trailers. Operate air power and hand tools including grinders, floor jacks, impact gun, rivet gun, and Sawzall. Must be able to work independently and part of a team. Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to carry out assigned work Trailer Repair Technician Required Education, Knowledge & Skills: Strong Mechanically inclined way of thinking Welding experience, ability to pass on site welding test ASE Certification preferred. Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16th is required Must be reliable with a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, written direction, and work orders. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Must be able to communicate clearly Requires ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and kneel Specific vision ability required includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Manufacturing work environment that has frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise intensity level, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to weather.
