We have an exciting opportunity for a Full-time, Food Services Supervisor to join the Dining & Nutrition Services department. The Food Services Supervisor is responsible for providing quality food service to residents, patients and employees, and for maintaining a clean, sanitary unit including organizing and directing dietary personnel to accomplish aforementioned standards. Supervises Dietary employees in absence of Director of Food Services. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health Care Center.
Competencies:
Supervises tray line for Dinner and Breakfast according to resident tray ticket:
Accuracy of resident trays
Timeliness according to truck schedule
Ensures job flows are followed by all staff for all positions.
Completes food production sheets for Cooks and Diet Aides.
Ensures staff coverage is adequate, makes necessary changes.
Responsible for achieving and maintaining high levels of sanitation in the department.
Completes daily paper orders.
Monitors, updates and adjusts hours worked by and paid to Food Services staff, in the Enterprise Time and Attendance system, to provide payroll with accurate payroll information.
Sets up for special cleaning on unit.
Qualifications:
3 years' experience in the food service industry, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Must have experience working in a Senior Living Facility or in a healthcare industry.
Experience with State Survey as well as Board of Health Inspection.
Active ServSafe Certification.
Schedule: 6am-2pm & 12pm-8pm, Monday- Friday and Every other weekend.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Secondary education in Food Services/Preparation preferred.

Operates commercial dishwasher to clean all service ware and pans.
Directs volunteers in food safety and sanitation regulations in the serving of foods and in cleaning up the kitchen.
Checks in linen supplies, verifying accuracy of order, as required.
Keeps work units and equipment clean, including surfaces and cleanable parts.
Assists in maintaining cleanliness of dining area. Maintains and orders inventory of janitorial supplies, linen supplies, service ware for home delivered and on-site meals, and other meal service supplies.
Informs supervisor of any problems encountered in meal delivery, food service, and related areas.
Participates in training and other meetings as requested.
Participates in the process of teaching, training, and mentoring student interns and volunteers working within the program area.
Acts in a manner consistent with agency values.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience in food handling, food service, and cleanup preferred, including a basic knowledge of public health, food handling, and safety standards.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Food Handler's certification required upon hire (ServSafe, National Registry of Food Safety Professionals, or other approved certification).
Current CPR and First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire.
PRE-SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:
Requires clearance of a DOJ and FBI criminal history background check.
COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccines preferred.
JOB SKILLS:
Knowledge of and ability to handle and prepare food in accordance with high quality food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards - including public health, food handling, and food safety standards.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing food preparation, packaging, and clean-up tasks. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting are required when handling food, operating kitchen equipment, and cleaning. The role involves regularly lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 30 pounds, such as meal carriers, bulk food containers, and kitchen supplies. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary for operating food service equipment and portioning meals accurately. The work is performed primarily in a kitchen environment, with exposure to varying temperatures, steam, and noise from equipment.
