    Compensation: $40.50 - $60.80 per hour (based on years of experience) Summary: The ASC Staff Nurse: Pre-Op, Post-Op and Conscious Sedation performs nursing functions according to the sequential steps of the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Principal Responsibilities:1. Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.2. Opens, cleans, re-stocks unit for the day.3. Assists in preparation of all necessary medication/equipment involved in patient care.4. Admits patient to procedure room/post-operative area assesses and documents patient status, formulates plan of care and completes all physician orders.5. Provides conscious sedation per OSBN guidelines.6. Monitors and assesses patient's condition throughout the procedure and/or pre-operative / postoperative period.7. Provides instructions, information and counseling to patients and their families as needed.8. Assists in all areas as needed to balance work load and assure quality patient care. Education/Licensure/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing Current unencumbered licensure in Oregon and fulfillment of requirements of the Oregon State Board of Nursing Current CPR certification, ACLS or able to obtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience with at least two (2) years experience in critical care, PACU or Medical Surgical Nursing desired Evidence of working knowledge of the nursing process Completion of conscious sedation competency Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate calm, confident management of emergency situations Organize, prioritize, delegate and assign duties to non-licensed personnel Maintain skills in demonstrated knowledge of pre and post-operative equipment usage and troubleshooting of such Complete knowledge and understanding of peri-operative nursing care in the freestanding ambulatory surgery unit Demonstrate flexibility and leadership with unscheduled procedure changes Ability to work well with providers and other staff Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work

Accurately records pertinent information in the Electronic Medical Record and ensures necessary patient care documentation is processed in a timely manner. * Accurately triage patient phone calls and ensure that callbacks and prescription refills are completed in a timely fashion consistent with provider guidelines, scope of practice, and clinic guidelines. * Understands and follows the approved prescription refill workflow and documentation requirements. Communicates directly with provider for any refills that need provider input, or that do not meet the workflow requirements. * Understands and interprets current immunization schedule. * Assist with patient education, medication reconciliation, and care coordination using the EMR system. * Contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to EMR utilization and patient care. * Refer inquiries to appropriate resource. * Documents pertinent information accurately. * Perform data entry at time of call (where applicable). * Maintain strictest confidentiality * Proactively monitor physician schedules for accuracy. * Improves the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance/participation in most in-services/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures. * Actively participates in the cleaning of shared work areas, keeping exam rooms clean, neat and stocked. * Attend staff meetings as required. Education, Licensure, and Experience: 1. Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing required. 2. Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse required. 3. One (1) or more years of experience in an acute care hospital and/or in an individual provider's office or clinic setting preferred. 4.
